Salvaging IOs from a character

If I have a character that I'm considering deleting to make room for another one, and just because I don't really want them, is it possible to salvage my IO investment in him in any way? It's not too much but I haven't dabbled in IO sets on many characters and he's one of them.

Burn your vet respecs, the I17 freespec, and your three earned respecs (so at least four respecs plus whatever you get through veteran rewards). That's enough to get 40 IOs off not counting the extra 10 per vetspec. After you've burned your free/earned respecs you'll have to decide if the remaining IOs are either worth:

* Buying a respec recipe off the market - these run from 100 to 200 million
* Paying for a respec with real money - this costs $9.99 for one respec

Thanks guys. He's still fairly low level so I should be able to salvage most of them with just my numerous vet respecs and earned ones.

Also, don't forget to email any inf you want to save to yourself as well, if you have a significant amount.

Definitely! Just beware, you can't send email until you're level 10 or higher. If you're under 10 and have something you feel is worth keeping, find a friend you trust and ask if they could email it to you or hold it for a minute while you login to another character. (I doubt this is news to the OP, looking at their reg date, but I thought I'd mention it for the newer people reading it. )

It never hurts to repeat good advice but just so you know, the reg date/post count doesn't really mean anything. People often leave the game and return months or even years later. There have been a few people that recently posted that they have been away for 4+ years and are happy to see all the changes that happened since the last time they played.
