Ideas for future vet rewards

First off please excuse me if there is a thread for this. I spent 30+ minutes searching for it. So PLEASE don't post a link to it. LOL

Many of the things I would have loved to see have come to pass. One I would love to happen, oh I don't know perhaps for the 75th month (hehe) would be similar to the 60 month reward. The 60 month reward grants early access to travel powers- something everyone wants. What I would like to see for a upcoming reward would be early access to costume auras. After playing this game for soooooo long, I would truely appreciate this. This would make the journey to lvl 30 seem a bit softer for those altoholics like myself. Perhaps a reward allowing capes at lvl 10 and auras at lvl 20. Hell I would settle for getting both 5 lvls earlier. LOL

I would name it "Iconic" a homage to Icon and it has a similar ring to the other vet reward names.

I like the idea of getting the auras as early access items as a vet reward.

I also like the idea of placing at least the first level of travel powers into character creation, as opposed to earning them. If you made levitate, combat jumping, super speed and even teleportation available in the creation cycle you are not really altering combat mechanics or offering unfair advantages. Especially since "Ninja Run" already acts like a travel power and is available extremely early on.

Impatience is also a virtue, but I play on VICTORY.

First, I like this idea very much, so /signed. Lately, it seems to me that I make a really nice toon and outfit, then go 30 levels, getting use to the look, then adding an aura, so I have removed the aura. It just doesn't seem right (to me) anymore. So if we could have auras and capes earlier, I would definitely use this reward for my alts.

However, with some recent threads about players being upset on waiting for Vet rewards (in particular the 60th month reward), I am wondering if this will be viewed as another "unfair" reward that relatively new players "will never see". Costumes are such a big attraction of this game, would this go over well?

*edit* On second thought!

Let's do it a leeeeeeeeeeeettle differently. Let's go ahead and have the Vet Reward for capes and auras at the 2.5 year mark to auto-unlock them at levels 10 and 20 respectively. Then make the 5 year vet reward unlock capes at level 1 and auras at level 10, and then at the 7.5 year vet reward: Capes and auras from level 1.

Opinions? It'd help ease off on the lowbie aggression, give most of the players something to look forward to when implemented, and let some players (those at 78 months) start out with auras for their Praetorian newblets! And you could still run the respective cape or Aura missions. But it would let a large portion of the Praetorians start out with capes, which wouldn't make sense otherwise, since there isn't a "Respect for Fallen Hero" gimmick in Praetoria.

Might makes right. You want to wear a cape, in imitation of your glorious leader, Emperor Cole? Then prove yourself first.

On the other hand, I got nothin' for the Resistance.

I like the core idea (specifically for auras, since capes are tangled in lore issues), but I think that trying to sidestep story/theme restrictions and parity via a vet reward isn't so great.

I totally get how they feel. HOWEVER... do they know how many hours and dollars PENNY has spent on this game? I feel it it fair for anyone who has supported them for so long to get something SOONER that is still available to everyone. I myself have 2 accounts and while I am saddened that my 2nd account is only 57 months old (does not yet get the early travel power reward), oh welll that is my bad for being cheap and waiting having debated for a couple months on a 2nd account. LOL

While my zillion alts applaud you... I know this would totally cheese some new members off. LOL. I myself have great new concepts that feel a bit lacking without the right costume enhancement (wings or aura or cape). I hate the idea of having to GRIND to earn something cosmetic that does not grant me combat bonuses or abilities. The idea of forcing play to earn that is a real downer and not in the spirit of fun.

Like many of you we did not have the LUXURY of all the stuff that they now have from the start- arena, PVP zones, wings, capes, temp travel powers, bases, teleporters, super-sidekicking, revamped zones, additional powersets, and on and on and on. We paid full price for limited costumes and power choices and STUCK with the game after all this time. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! I feel soo bad for them. My boyfriend started to play just last year and has none of the vet powers I do. He is happy about all the stuff he never had to go without.

When they have to sprint for years from home in Atlas Park, allll the way to PI in the snow to go to school like we did, they can cry fowl. :P

I went thru those emotions when the ITF was added. I had a character concept I wanted to use but I was very unhappy that I had to level thru half of his career in order to get the proper costume. So I actually waited almost a year and created the character during the Valentines Day event so he could unlock the Toga set and have a costume that actually fit the concept while he leveled up to do the ITF.

They should have picked one of the variations of the roman armor and gave it to everyone as a basic costume set.
