Was that patch suppose to fix the shader? Hasn't for me??
I still can't change the graphics back to the old shader thing where I got the minor reflections. ...Or was that not the patch i was looking for?

- CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
- HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

If those are the 'minor reflections' you're talking about, I'm still experiencing this - comparison i16 x i17 - as you can see my toon and the npc besides her had reflections and shading in the i16 pics and now they look plain.
Anyhow never hurts to see if you're running the latest drivers (I'm assuming you have an Intel chip because the shader options were supposed to be fixed and our 'minor reflections on toons and npcs/enemies corrected):

Yeah what your talking about lol. I'm running the latest. I downloaded them again just to be sure. Still the same. I just thought it was fixed from what the patch said.

It is for some and not for others, however if you follow the post that Zombie made then the techies here might be able to see if it's something that can be fixed on your end. I'd also suggest opening a support ticket with NCSoft. Even if they aren't able to help, simply making them aware through official channels that your issue is still ongoing may help them nail down why your specific configuration is still having issues, which may help them get something in for you in a future patch.

Based on this post: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...48&postcount=2
It looks... LOOKS like you are using Intel Integrated graphics. One of the threads Zombie Man links to directly deals with this issue in later posts: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=219502 :: cross-references to http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=220618
Luminous Martini found that forcing -useTexEnvCombine as a launch option solved the outright crashing on Intel chips:

***
Now, if you aren't using Intel integrated graphics, and you have some other graphics card from ATi or Nvidia that's on a legacy driver, such as from the Radeon 9x00 series, Radeon x300-x800 series, Radeon x1x00 series, and Nvidia Geforce4 through GeforceFX... your graphics options might be limited as neither company commits (a significant amount of) resources to addressing bugs or issues on cards from these errors.
***
Also, if you ARE using Intel Integrated graphics, you may, or may not, be S.O.L. when it comes to getting the exact same graphics settings as before. The existing graphics engine contained several hacks, work-arounds, kludges, and in some cases just plain bad coding to achieve some of the visual effects under OpenGL 1.3-1.5 Rendering paths.
The Ultra Mode upgrade fixed several of the outstanding code quality issues. Unfortunately, just because the graphics code itself might now be API Adherent... does not necessarily mean that the drivers themselves are API Adherent.
It is very possible, although unconfirmed, that CoH's engine was making use of non-specification OpenGL API calls to achieve some of the graphical effects. Converting these graphical effects into "standardized" OpenGL API calls may encounter problems when a vendor has implemented the non-specification call for performance or hardware reasons. E.G. : Nvidia, UltraShadow, and GeforceFX.
From the information that has been given to the players, it seems that the guys working on the engine think they can reduplicate existing effects on the cleaned-up code. They might not be able to. As demonstrated... quite painfully for many players... in the 5/04 patch, kludging the engine means... kludging the engine.

DAC type: Internal
I'm not really having a problem with crashes it's just the graphics stuff. I kinda understand now

Actually the game has not crashed at all for me after i17, I didn't crash often before but had some nasty ones when training / accessing the markets. The 'useTexEnvCombine' thingie worked for those who had crashes with Intel cards.
The guys from support told me to try safe mode lol. I don't know if I lose hope and laugh at them or keep my faith that they'll solve the shader intel issue, since it's not only me and you who have shader/low gfx quality problems among Intel users, meaning the supposed 'shader fix' wasn't ideal.
Yup., same thing as me, bad gfx/ greyed shader opstions.
