mmmm, There are raspberry bushes beside my house, and a secret blueberry spot across the street that the other neighbors don't know about. The fam went out picking last night, and I made an awesome "berry bread" for us to snack on.... We went back out tonight and got some more for Berry Smoothies in the morning, I feel really lucky to be able to do that!
Anyways, we are going back out tomorrow, and I'll see what else I can come up with... maybe a pie!
If I were the head of a megacorp like Apple or Microsoft of Sony, for my next major announcement, I'd make the URL be 500 characters long, so that people couldn't tweet it.
I'd also pay off tinyurl and similar sites to not allow my announcement URL to be shortened.

Even if someone begs to differ, a choo-choo train is still just a steam-powered locomotive engine more commonly referred to as a "train".
Not to be mistaken with the word "train" which refers to the actual process of exercising one's body in order to become stronger, more agile, etc etc in order to compete in sporting events or just to "look good".
It's also not to be confused with a bride's wedding train that happens to be that long piece of cloth that drags on the floor behind the poor woman...imagine if someone steps on that thing!

So, our Independence Day Adventure is over, and what an adventure it was!!
On Saturday, July 3, we went down to Orlando. We went to the Downtown Disney Marketplace, and bought new ears for our Mouse Ears we bought back in 2008. The Wife left them in the back window of the car after our vacation back in September of 2009, and they melted.
We went to Golden Coral for dinner, and then headed back to Downtown Disney. It was waaaay crowded, so we didn't even bother parking, but instead, went to the Polynesian Resort to watch the special July 4 Fireworks. We had parked there during Mother's Day when we went to see them, but because this was a special 2-day event, only Guests (i.e. people staying there) could park. The rest of us had to park in the parking lot. No big, though.
The show was awesome, and we got some O.K. pics. There was this family that saw us set up our cameras, and then after we were set up, they moved in front of us. Jackassholes.
We moved up, but we found we were too close to get any good pics. Sunday, we went to the next town over (from our town, not Orlando) for their fireworks show. We go there every year. They have an all day festival starting around noon, with live music and vendors and stuff. We went later in the evening, and it turned out we went too late. We no sooner got parked, out of the car, and started setting up our cameras than the fireworks started. *sigh*
Today, we went back down to Orlando. We went to The Florida Mall, and it was the most crowded place I've been in quite a while.
We ate lunch, then wandered around for 2 or 3 hours. Then we headed over to Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf, where we did the 36-Hole Adventure. It was rather hot, and doing both 18 hole courses was a little too much for us in that heat. On the first course, there was a hole where you had to hit your ball, and it would go off a drop, over moving water, and on to the other part of the green. I apparently didn't hit my ball hard enough, because it landed in the water. I thought my ball was lost, but it wasn't. I fished it out, tried again, and did the same damned thing. >.< There was another hole like that later, and both The Wife and I landed in the water.
On the second course, I hit my ball too hard on the 4th hole, and it almost went into the water near by. The Wife got it, tossed it back, and it went past me, and into the water. One lost ball. We sent The Child back to the rental hut to get a replacement. Things went well until around the 8th or 9th hole, when The Wife dropped her ball and it fell into the water. At that point, we were hot and tired, so The Child & I finished the rest of the course.
All in all, it was pretty fun. We'll probably do something like it again next year, but if we do, I think we'll book a cheap hotel, so that after the show, we can just stay over night, instead of driving back and getting home around midnight. That part was not fun.

My "4th of July" was not as exciting or glamorously entertaining as Kheldarn's.
Suffice it to say I was able to catch a glimpse or three of the fireworks as I stood out in the rain on top of the 3 story complex I work at. This town is a university town and does their fireworks on the 3rd so students can go home and be with family on the 4th.
In a way, I was glad it was raining. The tree line obscured most of the view, but I could see little bits here and there. Those bits and pieces would reflect off of the flooded roof in a way that reminded me of the last time I saw them over the lake I grew up with.
The weekend is over and the 5th is nearly gone. Hopefully next year will bring a better view.

For my 4th, we spent the weekend with some friends in a cabin we built. (A nice cabin, TV and bathroom and all that stuff). We bought some fireworks and waited till it got dark, then got fed up of waiting at 10 o'clock and launched em. Afterwards we had 2 boxes of extra firecrackers and proceeded to blow them up in any way we can think of. Did you know that if you stick 4 firecrackers in a marshmallow it will explode?
I vote we change this thread. The new rule is, you cannot under any circumstances follow the rules of the thread.
