Gunwitch Stories

Basically as an exercise in character building, I've been writing fiction based around Nitoichi's Praetorian counterpart, The Gunwitch, coming to Galaxy Girl sometime around August. It's probably a bit early to be publishing this, really, but I'm impatient. Besides, I'm vaguely hoping Zortel's eyes will light up when she sees the second story...

So, here we go. First up is Windows of the Soul a story set in Praetoria before Gunwitch even becomes Gunwitch.

And second is Suicide Takes Ages, which is set after her arrival in Paragon City, but before she's really met any of the heroes around town. This story does have 'adult themes,' please don't go reading it if you aren't an adult.

Damn you, Birdy. Both very good pieces, I loved the slight repetition of events in 'Suicide Takes Ages', a very effective story mechanic. I'd have to say it was my favourite out of the pair, though that's by a small margin. Didn't notice any typos or such, but then, I never do :P

They were both great!

Ah well, it's like the first episode of a TV series isn't it? You got that episode where you're setting all the charaters up and the plot's really just to get them to the start point for the show. It's never as good as the rest of the series.

If you had, I'd have kicked myself. I've been over it enough.

And thank you, CB.

Another story about Gunwitch. Somewhat adult themes, do not read if you're mental age is insufficient.

THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED!

Okay, the next in the sequence. This one features violence, 'adult themes,' and may cause momentary disturbance of the tear ducts. Sorry.

In accordance with the aforementioned themes, please do not continue if you are not sufficiently adult.

Blood

Oh yeah, it's also pretty long, sorry about that too.

Personally, I think that's one of my favourites. Also I'm not sure "cute" quite covers it - that was almost enough to give me toothache!

"Don't go away mad, just go away..." The best line Clint never said.

Very interesting, especially considering you did swing Tina by the statue. The pacing felt a little frantic at one point at the end when I read it, but I think that was more the quickly changing scenes, and not a writing issue as such. And what a way to close the story on.

I wasn't stunningly happy with the pacing on this on, but I couldn't come up with something to add which didn't just seem like detracting from the story.

I also wanted to switch from emotional scene to mild comedy at the end, hence tucking Arrow Azure's appearence in there. Tina is likely to make a few more drop ins at the status over the next few months before her untimely 'accident' happens.

I know that feeling. I've been trying to work on some writing exercises to fix that, hitting the books and all.

It worked, I certainly felt no mood whiplash. Then again, that might have been due to the awesome of the Arrow turning up.

Just for the record, that's as far as the progression will go for now. There may be some stories set in Praetoria to follow, but this last tale starts to push her into the mainstream Unionverse so we'll see how a few things pan out before I go further.

Well, we're less than a month away from Going Rogue coming out and we've had a bit more info on Praetoria City and its inhabitants. I'm happy to set this one free.

It's set prior to any actual in-game activities, after Windows of the Soul, but does set up some of the planned storyline for Gunny's progress from Praetoria to Paragon City.

Pain and Gain

FYI - link seems to be working again.

Not a new story, the next one will be out after GR releases.

However, all the Gunwitch stories are available from her character page on Unionverse and may be easier to access.
