Hey all,

I am going for a mid-budget (no purples or PVP IOs) tanker for my group of 4-6 regular teammates. 99% of the time will be PvE and rarely solo.

I am concerned about recovery and the playability prior to the +END accolades. Can you help me squeeze some more recovery out of this without breaking the bank. I have 2 sets of Kin Combats and the Numina unique scrounged from respecs I did last week on retired toons. Will just need 3-4 pieces of the Oblits I think. Anyway, thoughts?

Cheers and tanks in advance,

Can't you squeeze in Power Sink? After picking it up at level 26, all your end worries are pretty much over.

I was having a hard time getting to the soft cap on S/L with Power Sink in there. Good question, though and I continue to play with that. I had a build that gave up Fireball to make it happen, but I thought I REALLY needed that other damaging AoE in there. Drained mobs don't hurt much if they can't attack, so it can be a good opener like I use on my Elec/Elec brute. Power Sink, followed by Dark Oblit, LR and Thunderstrike all the while Field is sapping them down. It works pretty well, but I just obsessive about trying to get the soft cap on a tank.

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep looking at it. There probably is a way to do it with PSink in there but my creative hat is flickering as to how.

Cheers

Ive got a stone/elec brute that might as well tank. You _need_ power sink. Its a critical part of your damage mitigation. Used and slotted aggressively, you can jump in, fault, sink, tremor, and not worry about incoming attacks, because your enemies wont have end to attack you with. Between sink/fault/tremor (especially if you have hasten), against most mobs you have all the mitigation you need. Especially if you have some defense thrown in there. To be honest, I took powersurge at 49 or whatever the last power was, and slotted everything else extremely aggressively for +recharge. Between hasten, lots of recharge, chance for recharge in fault, and elecs built-in- speed/rech power, I could simply use my heal to cover what wasnt being controlled by my KD. Be aware that with your added toggles (i dont have fighting power pool at all), I can only imagine your end drain will be absurd. Without sink, if you are using an aggressive KD for mitigation (it appears you are, you took both fault and tremor at the least), the cost to run these powers repeatedly plus your added toggles is going to nuke your blue bar.

Going for Recovery set bonuses on an electric tank and not taking power sink is kind of like taking Assault while not slotting your attacks for damage.

Power Sink is THE signature power of Electric Armor; if you aren't taking it, you should probably just take another main power. As others have said, it simply solves all your endurance problems, as well as providing some mitigation to boot - it's 5 times as good as all the Recovery set bonuses you can take.
