Torn Between Builds
Honestly, neither.
If I were forced to choose I'd take Whirling Mace, but I think you really need to rethink the build.
- Your single target attacks are underslotted, they should really have at least 5 slots, preferrably 6, when you're using a set like Kinetic Combat.
- You're wasting your time 4 slotting Numina's for the +Heal% bonus.
- You want more recharge, so you can get Dull Pain perma or near perma, there are a lot of easy places to get 5% recharge bonuses that you skipped.
- Health is way overslotted with Numi's.
- 6 slotting BU with Gaussian's is a waste on a Typed Defense build IMO. Go with 2-3 recharge, or some combo of Recharge and 2 piece Rectified Reticle.
- Stamina is overslotted, you're a Brute - don't bother with tiny little Damage bonuses from sets, they will get lost in the ocean of damage that is Fury.
- Superspeed does not need a -KB IO. Not on an Invuln Brute.
- Invincibility is overslotted, for a fairly tiny regen bonus.
- I really disagree with the medicine pool. You have Dull Pain, you have inspirations, and with some work (and reclaiming the slots you've used on the medicine pool) you could be both softcapped to SM/L AND have whirling mace. Drop the medicine pool, get Weave and Combat Jumping.

Well i was also building for more end recov which is why i slotted invincibility they way i did and skipped weave/cj for less end drain. i have a IO'd SS/Invul that works great in pvp/pve with aid self cuz SS is end heavy. I dont mind making this invul different but hows the end issue with mace? and are we gonna be able to get Hero Patron pows in GR?

That looks much better.
Some more suggestions.
Reduce Dull Pain to 5 slots, and slot 5 pieces of Doctored Wounds for the +5% Global Recharge.
Remove the Steadfast Res/End IO from Temp Invulnerability. It's such a small amount of recovery (0.03 e/s) that it's hardly worth the effort IMO.
Remove the two Rectified Reticle's from Invuln.
That's a total of +4 slots, which would allow you to 5 slot jawbreaker the same way you slotted Pulverize.
Obviously, you need Jawbreaker first. Which I think would be a plus, you're ST attack chain will be better off with it. I'm not sure what you want to drop for Jawbreaker.
I would drop Unstoppable, because I don't use any T9 with such a heavy crash personally.
Get rid of the Status Resistance IO in Resist Elements, and put the Steadfast 3% DEF IO in it's place. That gets you another slot to use some where.
My last piece of advice would be to take Crowd Control much, much earlier.
In fact, you should absolutely take it as soon as it's available (L32). It will improve your leveling experience dramatically.
Good advice from Deus. A couple of other suggestions:
First, I would drop ResEL for Jawbreaker; I just don't find ResEl that useful since F/C damage is relatively uncommon, and JB is a good attack. And *definitely* take CC as soon as its available, IMO it's tied with Clobber for the best attack in the set.
Instead of Impervium Armor, I'd suggest slotting Reactive Armor in all your resist toggles; defense to S/L/E/NE is a lot more useful than Psi defense. And it makes more sense to 4-slot toggles rather than passives because a) they need end red and passives don't, and b) passives have lower base values so it doesn't make as much difference if they're slightly underslotted.
Tough Hide is underslotted; it has the same defense value as Weave and IMO needs 3 slots.
Obliteration is a problematic choice for a typed defense build because it takes a lot of slots for relatively small S/L defense bonus, and because it has very little end reduction in 6 slots. Unless you've got a secondary that has lots of recovery, I wouldn't recommend more than one or at most two attacks slotted with it. I think Eradication is a better choice since it gives a substantial E/NE bonus for 3 slots and you can add other set IOs to make sure it has enough end red.
Here's your build with the changes Deus recommended and mine as well; S/L is soft-capped with 3 in range of Invinc, and E/NE def is considerably higher than in your previous build. I dropped ResEl for Jawbreaker, but you could certainly drop Unstop instead if you prefer. Note that I replaced the KC Dam/End/Rchg for the KD proc in Boxing; if you're just using it as a set mule, you might as well save yourself a lot of infamy and get the cheapest KC you can find.

Just thought I'd pop in and give an emphatic two thumbs up to the build Finduilas posted.
The only thing I would do differently is remove 1 L50 Resistance IO from Resist Energies (losing 1.3% resistance to Energy/Negative, negligible) and add that slot to your defense toggle of choice for the Kismet +6% unique.
thx for the imput and build. I looked over yours and made a few adjustments, got 120% rech, DP at 114 sec rech with 1232 heal and adds 904 health. The LOTG on tough hide i moved to CJ cuz the def value is exactly the same and with it on CJ i get another +10% regen and -end drain a lil bit. and moved over a slot to add the +6% acc which i actually have one laying around. i added more end recov to get 3.60. i dont mind having 2 sets of oblits for the smashing chance on the aoe and cone. and with 4 in range of invincibility im getting 44.9 so not too shabby.

If you mean by -end drain and CJ, you're referring to slotting it for end reduction, FYI CJ's end usage is completely negible. (.07 EPS unslotted) I think it makes more sense to slot a LotG Defense instead of a Def/End, and not worry about its end cost.
The other thing you should definitely change is that Jawbreaker is underslotted for accuracy and damage. I think taking care of that is more important than the 6th slot in DP or the 3rd recharge Build Up; both are slotted well past the ED cut-off. For DP, if you simply switch out the DW Heal/End/Rchg for the DW Recharge it will be perma will all the global recharge you have, which would free up the slot to put in JB.
Regarding the Oblits; your call, but if you start have endurance problems keep in mind that those attacks are underslotted for end reduction. You might also want to consider moving the Oblits from WM to Shatter, since WM has the highest end cost of the three attacks that take AoE sets.

So i have a mace/invul brute im Io'ing, and b4 i get too far along ive made 2 builds i like, one has 45 s/l def with 10 guys around and has jawbreaker(another melee attack) or 2nd build has 40 s/l def with 10 guys around and i replaced jawbreaker with whirling mace for a aoe attack. Im debating if i should go with another single target attack (jawbreaker) and higher def or aoe attack and a lil lower def. what u guys think?
