Thoughts on this DM/Inv?

The same for my katana/regen. I'm actually considering mako for water spout (for teh lulz!) and hibern00b for extremely bad situations.
I'd rather not rework my entire defensive build into a recharge build that's almost entirely dependent on Smeld. 20% r/a and 45% m (with 1 DA) is already good enough, I'd rather have mitigation in the form of a tornado throwing things everywhere, personally.

Shadow Meld has been nice to me so far on my claws/regen
A quick and dirty not too expensive i19 build
Health will house the miracle unique and Stamina the Perf proc

No prob Iggy.

Not speaking to anyone directly but shadow Meld for Invulnerability would be excellent if the character was outfitted with SOs or just basic IOs, but not when you can achieve constant S/L/F/C/E/N Defense softcap.

but you're still sacrificing the optimum attack chain to gain that defense.

This is my km/inv/soul that uses a recharge intensive build rather than a defensive one.
the standard defenses and resistances are more than enough for the sort of gameplay I do (+2x8 at most, generally).

Attack chains. That's something I have passing interest in but have never actually dedicated any build I've made to achieve. Seriously, never have. I may have asked what a good attack chain might be for a build I've made, but that is after I've made the build. Others find an attack chain first and then make a build to support it. I'm pretty happy to play Attack-A-Mole with my attack buttons.

A Shadow Meld build is just still no good for me. I did mention as well in an earlier post that the build is leaning on the side of Damage mitigation, rather than Damage output.

That KM/Inv/Soul build has several Purple IO sets, something I mentioned I would not do. I am fine with one or two Purple IOs/PvP IOs but getting entire sets is just not something I do. I'd rather kit out other characters I have with that kind of Inf. Regular Merits are out of the question for obtaining Purple IOs and my Hero Merits are going towards unique PvP IOs, specifically the 3% Defense one.

I only even put the pvp IOs in because I happened to have acquired them outside of the market. None of them were even in the original build, and as such are far from necessary.
The purples on the other hand, I will have to work for. Of those, I might have... maybe 5 IOs in total?
That's just a part of how I enjoy the game, though. Working with a goal in mind. That goal, in this case, is to finish this character, so I can then use him to refill what I spent making him. It's a very long and slow process, but one that I can enjoy when I have an hour or two free from homework every now and then. I don't do much of the AV soloing, myself. I enjoy building things, probably more than I enjoy using them.

Hell yeah. Some day I will use more Purple IOs and PvP IOs, but for now I will get my 36 characters to a very high standard, rather than the maximum. When and if the day comes that I find the absolute main character out of all of those characters and I am satisfied with the performance of the other characters, that will be the time when I go to great lengths to get the very best of the best.

I am very excited about the possibilities, but that was the Alpha slot back then. We don't know what it is like today.

I think you're doing something wrong there Iggy, the only time my Claws/Regen hits the hospital is when I DC in a mob.

In contrast to my DM/SR brute, who has been used as an immobile agro magnet while I was DCed before.

I'll see your ounce of prevention and raise it a metric ton of cure.

But I shouldn't be talking up Regen like I'm still any good at it. I don't think I've played Werner more than a handful of missions in several issues now. I'm sure if the going got rough, I'd be all thumbs and face plant. I really should at least stay in practice.

I wondered if I could boost the Defense numbers even just a little bit for the DM/Inv/Pyre build I have and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to bring up Energy/Negative Energy up to the softcap along with Smashing/Lethal, and also bring up Fire/Cold to ~43%. Having Fireball will add that much needed (and pretty much missing) AoE for Succubus Kali. I think this is what I will definitely be doing as an I19 build, unless anyone can find ways to improve upon it:

Replaced Unstoppable for Maneuvers and moved a few things around...
Softcap to s/l/e/n and 43.2 to f/c with 1 foe on inv.
A bit lower resists but I got you a bit more recharge
Left you a choice of either 5 Heca on Smite or better slotting on SL
3 slots left to maybe improve endurance, slot up all attacks or get f/c to the cap....

Modifying that build to my liking, I got it softcapped on S/L/F/C/E/N, reduced some of the Endurance drain, put Endurance/Recharge IOs in the spot you left me for the three attacks, and changed the Heal/Endurance Doctored Wounds to Recharge/Endurance. I did lose the Perception IO, but I don't mind. It was just a nice bonus. It looks like I will be using Dark Consumption for Endurance recovery once again. This is turning out to be quite the excellent build, and without having to load up on several sets of Purple/PVP IOs at that! I am very pleased with the stats.
