2nd build: Crab or Huntsman?
Wow, that sounds like quite the Bane build!
It is true that if you choose crab powers on your second build, you will always have the crab-pack. The huntsman is a very viable alternate build that will keep you free of superflouous crablegs. Don't worry about the damage, between leaderships and venom grenade, you'll put out very good damage while buffing the team's damage as well. If you don't mind a little redraw, you can even include build-up for burst damage.
I have what would probably be considered a low-to-mid-end bane/huntsman, which performs admirably on a pretty low budget; it is my go-to support toon redside. I honestly enjoy the huntsman playstyle heaps more than the bane, and though my build's melee defense is not softcapped, happily survive chaotic events like speed ITF's by bouncing around the battle unleashing AOE death all the while. I am sure you can use this as a starting point, and with more inf and time create some kind of monster.

Wow, that's a nice build and some good feedback there. I am not a fan of the backpack look and the build you posted looks like a gun-bane of sorts... which is pretty interesting. I may have to investigate this a bit, thanks for the information!
Oh, and my bane I was talking about.. gotta love frankenslotting, which is ultimately what made it possible to pull off. There were some compromises, like not having room for hasten or the medicine pool, but overall it works well with my style of play. Thanks for the compliment =)
Stat points on the build i posted:
--Over softcap on ranged and AOE def, to allow for def debuffs. 28-30ish melee def.
--Around 21% team def, 30% team dmg, 15% team to-hit. 40% total damage buff for self.
--Between Venom grenade, Survellance, and the Achilles' -res proc in Single Shot, an easy -60% res on hard targets like AVs.
--Only 31% global recharge + Hasten. One could move some slots or sacrifice some of the over-softcap ranged/aoe def to put in lotg 7.5% recharges.
--Stealth with Cloaking Device + SS. There are other ways to achieve full stealth, but Cloak is a very very nice power.
--Can be end-hungry in long fights, but I havent put in the time to get the miracle and numina's procs, so my huntsman doesn't have ideal end recovery yet.

Person, I play my Huntsman on Virtue frequently, if you want to see one in action, look for "Operative Gant". I just hit level 40 with him. The damage isn't amazing, but I amp up the team damage with buffs and debuffs and provide a fair bit of defense while being reasonably survivable myself.
Telperion, that looks like a great "low cost" build. I've just started IOing my Huntsman with Sets and I'll be trying something similar. Thanks for posting that.

Huntsmen eat face all the time.
Ok, after about a year of planning my bane's build is almost completed. Now I'd like to work on a second build for her. Something more support themed but can solo decent as well. Someone told me that if I had a crab as my second build my bane would also have the crab's backpack... is this true? Also, I like the idea behind a huntsman's WAWG + venom grenade + frag + full burst combo but without a higher damage like blaster or scourge like corruptors I'm a little uncertain about the performance of the class.
What dual soldier builds do you guys employ? I don't think I've ever seen a true Huntsman on Virtue yet, so I have no idea how effective they are. I know that crabs can lay down some AE hurt but I have yet to group with one. I've read the guides but would like some feedback on which you think is more enjoyable to play. Thanks in advance.
