upgraded to ATI Radeon 5870, now getting weird video issues

I upgraded to ATI Radeon 5870 and everything looks great, and I also upped my resolution to 1920x1080. However, when I select a menu - like costumes or Personal Info - the game will snap back to a scene earlier in the mission for a second before bringing up the menu in question. I've never had CoX do this before. Any ideas?

Check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines

Then post the results of these two programs:

  • CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
  • HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

I'm getting the same issue. I have no idea what's causing it. As it doesn't seem to be affecting anything, I haven't pursued it. In this particular case, DXDIAG and COHHelper won't be of any use.

For comparison's sake: I'm on a 5870 with Windows 7-64bit on an I7 proc with 6GB RAM.

Be well, people of CoH.

I had this with my HD5770 and with my brand new HD5970. It doesn't seem to affect anything at all; I'd assume it's some kind of legacy bug from the "nVidia club" days, but I'll wait until i17 hits to say it with confidence.

this bug also occurs on 10.3 fglrx under Cedega. I haven't seen it on Nvidia cards. I suspect it's an old Framebuffer problem. I'd wait until the 10.4 driver stable release though before pursuing the issue since 10.4 stable is supposed to fix most of the known CoH issues.

Well, misery loves company, so I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one!
