Did I spend too much on this?
I think you're doing fine money wise for the sets you have. Shouldn't be too hard to softcap, Gaussian set in Focus Chi for 2.5% Def to all, take fighting pool and put Aegis set of 5 in tough for some nice AoE def, 6 performance shifts in stamina gives 3.13 aoe. I didn't load it on mids to check it out but you're getting there. I'd probably skip One with the shield to get weave in slotted up. I'd look into medicine for aid self, speed for hasten, and/or jumping for more def from CJ. Soon the two non KB BotZ IOs will be dirt cheap, that's an easy 1.25% ranged def from only two slots.
Thanks for the reply. I do have hasten. I also took body mastery for the extra bit of endurance and regen. I didn't pick up any traveling since I have ninja run. I know there are bits and pieces of + def out there, but my buddy gives me another 10-12 defense with grant cover, rounding me out, except AoE. I just went ranged to avoid all the first attacks. Against all Odds pretty much ensures that there won't be many AoE attacks after shield charge and then we just mop up. He has a nearly identical build. We usually alternate shield charges and wipe the floor with baddies. I just didn't want to be grossly overpaying for what I do have. I still have a couple things I am working in, but not overly concerned with the soft cap as I was factoring in his grant cover and the minimal attacks coming from the few guys left standing. I also 3 slotted health and physical perfection to offset those couple attacks.
So... the only time you're ever going to play this toon is when you play with your buddy with grant cover?
Space reserved for a super awesome Signature, someday...
If you're comfortable with the level of performance you're getting, then it was worth the money. There's no maxim that states that you have to have softcapped defense and a bunch of recharge for normal content.
No. The only time I am gonna fight anything stupid-crazy is when I am with my buddy with grant cover. That's why we made them, so we could play with the bigger enemy groups with the new difficulties. I just play to play. I kinda fell into large chunks of cash selling random recipes and then before I realized it, I was actually making a build, so I kept going little by little. After I got to comfortable levels, I respecced(sp?) his toon to match, and pick up grant cover. This is the first build that I have actually made to build for anything meaningful. I usually frankenslot.

Also, there isn't really a set spelling for "respec" or any variation of it, because it isn't a real word. There is no spell-checker on earth that will accept any variation of it as being spelled correctly, so spell it however you want. The way you spelled it there is the way I usually spell it too.

Re-specialize is the correctly-spelled term. Not that it's terribly important.

"Hmm, I guess I'm not as omniscient as I thought" -Gavin Runeblade.
I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
you are more or less a small purple from softcap. Which means you are ready to take on pretty much anything.
Unless you are specifically build for a no insp challenge (RWZ, Pylon, AV's) then insp fall like rain, use them to crush everything. Your numbers look high enough that even if you aren't supplementing you will still breeze through most encounters even without your shield friend nearby.
This is pretty much the build for my MA/Shield scrapper. Looking back I probably spent about 300-400 million or more. It gets me 39.5 ranged, 35.8 melee and 24.5 AoE. I know these are not spectacular numbers, but I was wondering is the price too much. Also, I will note that the actual values are more than enough, because I run with a shield friend with grant cover too. I'm just wondering did I way overpay for the numbers. The Obliterations cost the most at 20-30 million each(going rate now). I just want to know if I can get higher overall numbers with the same amount of cash on shield.
