Just Came Back

Did the game take a dive in population again? Seems quieter. I'm on Infinity.

What happened to the Help channel? Every time I click the Help tab and use "Active Tab" to talk in Help I get a message saying that "h requires 0 args, you gave 23" or such.

What is with that? What happened to the Help channel?

Not sure if my old friends are still playing so I can't ask them...

First off, welcome back.

A few things:

1) The game is in-between issues right now, with a decent amount of people in the closed beta for issue 17. Still, population hasn't been that far below average that I've seen. What time were you on?

2) The help channel now uses the /hc channel identifier, instead of just /h. It seems like the way you go through the process to get there hasn't been updated to reflect that.

Still, if you need in-game help, use the channel identifier hc, not h.

Well, a lot of people are taking breaks until the new issue and Going Rogue come out, and others are in i17's closed beta checking it out. I don't believe the game's population has dropped that much, if at all.

Help channel is accessed with "hc" now if I recall correctly. I'm not certain on that though, so someone else will have to confirm for you. I don't use that channel, so I'm going by memory of someone else's post from a while back.

I was wondering about that

Also, it's important for returning players to keep in mind that there are a number of new "attractions" that are tending to spread the population across a greater number of zones.

AE, Oroborous, Cimerora, the Midnighter's Club, revamped zones like Fautline & Hollows, an updated Rikti War Zone, Universities, Markets (Wentworths & Black Market), etc. etc.

Hard numbers in the City Life section of these forums point to a probable decline in subscribers due to a variety of game-related and real-world developments (AE backlash, new MMO releases, economic downturn, etc).

But what population remains, is more spread out than it was a few years ago, and can make the world seem emptier in zones like Atlas and Peregrine Island, that used to attract a large number of people for various reasons.

Also bear in mind that Infinity is a wee bairn compared to the juggernaut Freedom and Virtue servers.

Lots of people like the small ones. Lots and lots of people like the large servers.

Global channels are an excellent option for finding teammates.

Also, with the player notes feature, your reputation follows you, for good or for bad, across characters, servers, and between red and blue.

Thank you, Champion.

Thanks for such a warm welcome. Still awaiting a response from the question I submitted to in the "Ask A Question" section.

It's the next day and it still won't let me prepurchase. Weird.

How much have you spent at the store in the last month? Is that total plus the cost of Going Rogue prepurchase more than the limit you specify in the NCsoft Master Account billing page? If it is, increase the restriction in the NCsoft Master Account billing page. (I have it set to $200, which allows me to pay for my yearly fee and some goodies, if they happen to coincide.)

I've spent less than 100 bucks. That's for sure. But this is what it says. Trying to figure out how to change the thing to 200 instead.

Edit: Nevermind. I removed the card and readded the information three times and it finally let me prepurchase Going Rogue.
