Statesman had said the intention was to always have PvP, but not at launch (and that's what happened, though one could argue we don't really have PvP anymore).

I don't see how. I PvPed the other day. 1v1 timed match. Lost 2 kills to 1. Must exist as I stopped hallucinating years ago.

Be well, people of CoH.

I'm was aware Statesman said that. I would stop short of calling him a liar but I will point out Statesman's perceptions and intents were...odd to say the least. How you can design melee characters that root for every attack and claim PvP was always intended defies comprehension.

SI Radio has many DJs and listeners whom hold City of Heroes close to their hearts. We will be supporting many efforts to keep CoH ALIVE!!

Yeah... I think it's taken as a matter of course by most people that CoX was designed for PvE first, and then PvP much later on. The rooting is just one example, I would say. WoW clearly has a better plan and integration for PvP, just to cite an example.

I'm not sure what to say about the state of PvP now... I usually don't mind playing against other players, but I tend to find PvE more fun, I guess. I prefer to get PvP in first person shooters, I guess.

I read this to about getting the rights of City of Heroes Two, However it doen't mean it true, People buy rights to books, Movies and Tv Shows all time and never have them develops. If they do make another Coh game that be fine by me, I already am in love with this game. But something like Coh 2 will take Years and year to be made and bought into the market, So Don't worry about it right now.

I'd call him a liar. He has a proven track record of revisionist history. :0

Yeah, Jack only tells the truth years later, "There is one nerf that I did that we lost a couple thousand people on," he admits. "It was called enhancement diversification... and that really did make people mad."

At this point they've jury rigged the engine so much it is probably very close to what they want it to do now.

And he still won't admit that he was much of the problem with those changes. If you listen to the guy too much, he starts to sound all-knowing... but if you think about what he's saying... yeah, not so good.

Intended is not the same thing as being designed/balanced for. If I had to guess, I would belive it was always intended - they just didn't do any real playtesting or balance testing on it before it was implemented.

The sad part is, it became an easy scapegoat for any and all powers changes afterward - now THAT is a great way to fragment the player base. Damn PVPers took mah BURN PATCH and Mah REGIN!
