Fire/SD Help

Hey all.

I've recently been trying to level a fire/SD scrapper, and I gotta say, it's tons of fun. I'm in the mid 20's and having lots of fun with it. I've been looking at alot of builds and was just wondering what the people here on the forums think. I've been looking for a good build to solo AV's once I hit 50, and still be able to team pretty well. Cost doesn't really bother me, I'll do some more farming on my 50's, but I'm trying to find a build that isn't overly expensive. I'm looking to run the Incin-->GFS-->Cremate chain, but Incin-->Scorch-->Cremate-->Scorch works too if it works better.

Give me a number that you're willing to spend. I have one that will work, but it has two purple sets and the PvP IO.

If you search through the scrapper forum you will find numerous threads about Fire/Shield. I wish we had active section moderators that would merge threads about the samething.

4 or 5 bill, I would say. But I'm willing to spend as much as I need to. The cheaper the better though.

Here is the build I'm currently using. Like I said earlier, it has the PvP IO and two purple sets. If you don't wanna spend that kind of influence, it should be easy enough to modify.

This is gonna be a rough estimation for the most part.

PvP IO: 3 Billion
Hetacomb: 1.2-1.5 Billion
Armageddon: 1.4 Billion
Five Luck of the Gambler Recharge 600 Million(estimate, I had a couple already)
Numina and Miracle Unique: Random Rolls so 0(estimate about 250 Million for enhancements)
Membrane Exposure: 150 Million each

The others I don't really recall, but several of them go for 20 milliion or more. These prices I'm listing are also buy it nao prices, which I was fine paying because I wanted them at that moment.

If you're patient or get a few lucky merit rolls you can easily save hundreds of millions if not a billion or more.

Looking at my build I just remembered that I actually have Obliteration five slotted in Fire Sword Circle instead of the purple set. I was running with those while I earned more influence for the final purple I needed and decided that the little bit of extra recovery, accuracy and recharge wasn't worth the price. So you can skip that and you'll still be doing great.

In addition to farming I suggest using the market to make influence. If you use the market well you'll be able to make significantly more influence than you could farming.

Nice build Munki! I modified it to make a cheap-ish version (no purps/pvps), lost 15% rech but the numbers aren't bad, not that I'm an expert on attack chain values. I'm leveling a fm/sd/blaze who will have low resistances and pitiful regen mostly for farming, your build gave me some ideas on how to get good regen and softcap AoE which I was having a hard time with, because I'm considering making her alternate build fm/sd/body to solo hard stuff and pseudo tank.

Thanks for the complement. My build actually improved once I got rid of the Blessing of the Zypher.

I like the modifications you did, maintained the regen and recovery which is extremely important IMO. Especially since I never take Aid Self.

This build is great for people that don't wanna spend the influence on the PvP IO and purples(I don't see myself buying those things for another build for a long long time).

Munki was kind enough to post as you saw. I use a Mac too, but since the game is emulated on Mac, not properly ported like WoW, the Mac version runs like a slideshow on my intel GMA950 vcard, which is not even officialy supported on the Mac client... And that's on the lowest gfx settings.

But on my WinXP partition (40 gigs just for the game and the internets - messenger, firefox, some music) on the same computer the game runs very well on medium-high settings. Redside is a joke on my Mac client, my Bane is a floating head, my Widow has no arms and legs and it's a slooooow slideshow lol. And on the Win client I never even got lag in Grandville and RV, a common complaint among PC users.

I think that even if I had a decent vcard to run the Mac client I'd still run the Windows one because I'm addicted to Mids and Herostats. I have Parallels Desktop if I want to run winxp inside Mac OS X but things get kinda slow, even if I only run Mid's, which may not be an issue if you go try because my Mac has an old processor (Core Duo 1.66, 2gb RAM).
