I made my first blaster fairly recently. Got him to level 50 (dp/mm). I plan on softcapping his s/l defense but that's gonna take some time since I'm not too well developed on hero side (mainly play villain).

So anyways I did an ITF on my warshade that I haven't played in forever. It made me sad because he felt like a blaster with 90% resistances (or whatever the cap is) in everything. Which made me question why I need a blaster to begin with.

I was hoping someone here could tell me in what areas blasters are better than warshades so I don't feel as sad.

Because Warshades don't have guns and mental powers?

Is your blaster unfun? Do you not like playing it? You don't need a blaster if you don't like playing it. Warshades are plenty fun too.

It is easier to make an AoE damage machine with a blaster, but by the 30s, and then even moreso after, Warshades can do plenty of AoE damage as well.

Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.

well the obvious answer and what most people will tell you is you play them because they're fun. thats the point of the game.

that aside, I can only speak from very limited time playing a warshade as i got one to 50 before iOs, didn't like it, and /nerdrage deleted.

From what I remember, Warshades are fairly mob dependent with eclipse and the self heal(name is escaping me atm) and aren't as consistent with the AoE damage. of course I could and probably am way off base on that so idk.

I will say Blasters are much more consistent in both damage and survivability if you know how to play them, do higher damage than warshades, and can pew pew while mezzed. and they're much much easier to slot compared to warshades, especially triforms.

and yea, warshades don't have guns. thats the main reason. like 90%.
