Question about power sets
No they haven't added anything like that and I don't think they ever will. They have however made a lot of the leveling experience more friendly.
There's Missions that you can create yourself so you can make enemies weak to you.
There's patrol xp. for every hour a character is logged off you can some credit on your xp bar and will earn 1.5X xp until it wears off.
There's temporary travel powers that can be gotten early on and more zones linking to multiple zones and SG base teleports so you can get to your missions much much faster.
And most of the powersets are much more balanced. The ones that used to be Uber may not be as good anymore but the ones that used to be the suxxors can at least hold their own for a little bit solo now.
you still cant respec a powerset, you will have to remake the toon if you want a new powerset

What's the limit on that? I should mention that while I haven't played in maybe a year my account has been active this whole time.... LOL
It's to bad they don't offer a one time chance as like a 53 month vet reward or something. One of my assault blasters would have fit so much better with duel pistols! Oh-well...
Remember when it took 500 hours to get to level 50? I do.
Remember when it took 300 hours to get to level 50? I do.
These days... well, on an SG team (so large, fast, experienced but not specifically PL'ing or farming) I can get a level every hour and a half (roughly) through the 40's.
Seriously, XP flies at you so fast these days.
Also, inf. The IO system will give you culture shock- whether that pleases you or not depends on whether your first experience is "I sold that for 10 million!?!?!" or "They want me to pay 10 million?!?!??" SO's still work fine, you should be able to afford them really easily, but IO's work better and cost between "a little more" and "You've got to be ******* kidding me." And sometimes you will be surprised by which category something falls in.
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.

Patrol XP also works as "un-debt", and there are some other not-so-obvious rules, like what it does in the AE or during Double XP events. You can read it all here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Patrol_XP
By the way, the rules on sidekicking/exemplaring and mission difficulty have changed extensively during the last year. basically, everything you knew about them, and most of the things written prior to summer 2009 are wrong now. Simplified version of the changes:
1) You're automatically SKed/Exemped to the level of the current mission owner (NOT the team leader, as many seem to think. Unless there's no mission selected.) the only way to opt out is to quit the team.
2)SK ed players are still on the leash for XP calculations, but their combat level does not drop outside the leash. (so, no faceplants because your mentor decided to "scout ahead")
3) Exemped players can EARN XP, but there's an option to opt out of this as well as to stop earning XP altogether (you will get inf and debt payment intead, like 50s do).
4) While exemped you get values (HP, damage, enhancement scaling etc.) of a level you are exemped to, but powers availability is calculated as if you were 5 levels higher. (So, if you're level 50 and are on a Positron TF, you would deal damage as if you were level 15, but you would have powers you had picked up at 16,18, and 20 available. (Stamina!!!))
5) Difficulty change is now free, and allows you to set relative level (from -1 to +4) spawn size (standard to +8) whether or not you want bosses and whether or not you want AVs independent of each other.
The net effect is that it's easier than ever to get insane (by past standards) amounts of XP for most playstyles/builds, even without outright power leveling. (although Pling itself was obviously slowed down somewhat. No way to "fight" +9s and still get XP, )
Well, you can fight +9's and get XP...if you manage to kill it. But there's no way to be on a team with a +9 teammate and get massive xp.
Just clarifying that.

OOOOOOLLLLLLLLDDDDDD player here. I haven't played in awhile but the new expansion has my interest peaked and I might hop back in. Before I do though, I was wondering if the devs added in a way to change powersets yet. Most of my favorite characters are pretty old, oldest being about 2 months after launch I believe. There's been ALOT of changes done to powersets over the years, there's been new ones added to the old archtypes, and with my pre-order for the new expansion comes a new powerset!
I'd really, really like to change the powers my old blaster has.
