Oceana (union verse RP)
Sues hand slid off the mans forehead, and she stepped back with a sigh, that took a bit of doing.
There, see permanent fix, doable, what you should have done from the start, now how am I going to do that to the entire city |
This... she breathed out, in a hushed voice Is a miracle...
She looked at Sue, in astonishment, as if looking at her without preconceptions for the first time.
We have never been able to cure someone before.... please you must help everyone. She begged.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Sue boggled at the president, What do you mean? Have you never even thought to try? You have yourself a small army of psychic children you actively train and use to manipulate minds, and it didnt occur to you to try and undo it permanently
She sighed, looking a bit tired, And I cant help everyone, not on my own
maybe if I had some more psychics, and we worked together
Of course we tried. The president said, before catching herself and beginning to talk in a respectful tone.
We have no other meta humans, the Jills are all the descendant of the Wolf, and their family ties mean they can not affect each other. She explained.
The same reason that they cannot capture Jack Wolf, is the reason they can only bandage the wound his farther caused. She shook her head.

But here you were, city with loads of psychics in, and you were more concerned with luring people to your island or enacting your policing system in a world it doesnt work in, but really, could we get all the Jills together and awake? Im going to need a boost that size to help out he whole city
The president walked over, to her desk and pressed the city wide intercom.
Username Hubbard, access code Mary had a little lamb... command Sunrise. She said in a voice, that echoed over the city.
Across the city the children began to wake up, then gasping in fear and surprise they began to cry. Without a centre to their network, each child was cut off from the others, alone in their minds for the first time in their lives.
Little bubbles of fear, depression and loneliness began to pop up all over the city, even in the presidents room as the Jills there awoke.
The man on the sick bed, began to cry, tears dampening his pillow.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Sue quickly sat down, shifting into a lotus position on the floor, not saying a word, no doubt confusing the president a fair bit.
But there would be time for explanations later, Sue was far too busy relaxing her mental defences, letting her mind drift to each of the little bubbles of fear, which made each Jill so much easier to find, offering each on the chance to have Sue tie them all together mentally once more, but not simply doing without asking, always it would be the Jills choice.
Opening the door would reveal...
That they were neither in Talos Island nor actually in Port Independence. They tunnel had gone under the war walls, and led them to a warehouse in the district between Port Independence and Boomtown. The building backed onto the Estuary, the other warehouse door, no doubt actually opened out onto the docks, which would explain the sunken pit with dingy seawater in it, inside the building. |
"What is it now?" Masha groaned from the booth.
"We're both wide of the mark, it seems." Florian yelled back, prompting Masha to storm over to her partner to see what he was on about. Upon seeing, Masha simply pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I hate it when we're both wrong." They both muttered in unison.
"Ack, let's see what's behind door number two, shall we?" Florian then added.
"Way ahead of you." Masha yelled over, already headed to the larger shutter. "Then we can call the chief, right?"
"Right." her partner confirmed. "Then... I'm buying you that dinner when this dump's finally locked down."
Sam: "My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas."
Max: "Me too."

But Sue asked them while they were still terrified, still desperate for things to be like they all ways were.
So they accepted, each and every one of them.

Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
With the Jills soothed and once more all nice and linked together, with nice soothing comfortably thoughts reverberating around their links, Sue moved on to the next step.
Still sat motionless in the presidents office Sue begin to ask for help, from the Jills and from the psychic collective she already centred, asking the hundreds of buzzing minds to help lend her their strength.
In the office Sues hair began to drift as though under water, and her head began the glow a faint purple, as waves of powerful concentrated psionic energy began to radiate out, performing on a large scale her actions with the single man before. Grabbing three dozen minds at once, brining the burning light of hope to cleanse the ingrained command and moving on, it would take a long long time to help all of Oceana, but Sue was commited to her path now.
The other door opens up on a deserted dock, a series of chains, would raise a tall metal gate, that would turn the dry dock in the warehouse into an indoor dock, for medium sized vessels.

Alright, Masha called over to base, now that the connection was more likely to be clear from her position. Requesting lock-down teams at my location and the Oceana embassy. Transmitting all recorded logs of the past few hours for forwarding to the necessary authorities. Let me worry about the written report a little later.

Eventually Susan would of been able to fix everyone, on the island...
Not that everyone needed fixing, the people in the government were all immune, as were Jack and his sister where Sue had left them. Around two hundred or so minds, had never been infected, people from Paragon City.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Looking at why people from Paragon were here would have to wait for a little longer, as when her work was done, the glow ceased and Sue practically collapsed onto the floor of the office. A few deep breaths later she was able to push herself up from the floor.
There
done
all done
why
why dont you tell me why theres
Paragon natives here
and just what the hell youre doing with them?
Sue continued to try and catch her breath, but its fairly obvious shes not going anywhere or doing anything for some time.

We had hoped, that with fresh blood... we hoped for a better world for our children... so we took in your unwanted and dejected the president said softly, slumping in her chair.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Sue rolled over onto her back, well and truly exhausted, You will have to pay the price
for your crimes, you do understand
dont you?
There was a few moments of slow steady breathing before she added, I saved your people though, please let this act of kindness set the right tone for the way things will go from here.

Were entirely blameless and acted only, upon threat of punishment. She gave Susan a look, judging if the psychic woman would let it stand or not.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Sue tilted her head to the side, clearly not looking with her eyes any more, far too tired to keep that up.
Only following orders is never
never a good enough excuse, but it isnt for me to decide, Im not
judge jury and executioner, Im only the one who brings people to trial in the first place, I wont be the one to decide that
((Well I'm guessing that wraps this up, unless anyone has objections?))
((I'd imagine that Longbow would step in as a temporary peace keeping force, until the whole kidnapping issue had been cleared up.
Eventually the government would change a few faces, a new security force established and order returned to the Island.
But that would be many months if not years down the line.))
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
((Aye, possibley with the leadership being taken to some kind of inernational tribunal thing, what since no nation has soverignty over them, and Longbow either reciving offical UN sanction to help out or being replaced by actual UN Peacekeepers, as they were just a stop-gap solution.
With Sue of course requestion the Jills be re-homed on Clone-island for re-intergration to society <.<))
