The greasy man went for the cocky approach.

“It’s a warehouse durrr, where did you think you were Icon?”

He struggles in the hold.

“Crazy capes, coulda frigging killed me!”

"THAT..." Masha barked as she brought a knee to the man's groin sharply, but still pressing him against the wall to hinder any keeling over. "...can be arranged. Now, the truth, if you please. What is the purpose of this... warehouse. The -true- purpose."

"Things by boat, things come in and go out from here" he squeaks out

"What things?" Masha snarled, her own fist glowing as the nanomachines in her hand got to work reinforcing any punch she may throw at him.

"Masha," Florian warned. "Take it easy..."

"Let me work, Florian!" Masha barked, still keeping her eyes fixed on the man. "What exactly are these things, why have you been holding kids down in the basement and what's the connection between the two?"

“The people down stairs, we weren’t holding them. They wanted to be there.” The man held one of his hands over his groin.

“We just gave them a place to stay, until they left the country!”

Masha responded by shaking the man, so that his head bounced a little off the surface behind him.

"I don't belie-"

"MASHA!" Florian snapped, planting his free hand firmly on her shoulder while keeping his own charged fist pointed right at the man. "That's enough! Take a damn seat while I finish this!"

"But... but..." Masha stammered, stepping back and slumping into the chair previously occupied by their little 'friend'. Eventually, she shook her head rapidly for a moment. "Y-you're not buying his bull, are you?"

"Far from it." Florian answered. Soon after, he grabbed the man's collar with both hands and pressed him against the wall once more. Only not as harshly as Masha. "Alright, buddy, so the girls came here willingly, huh? Where are they headed if they're leaving the country, then?"

Florian glanced back at Masha for a split second before returning his attention back to the man. The Russian merely glared at Florian with some degree of mistrust. What has gotten into her, Florian wondered?

"You may wish to answer truthfully, lest I return you to eternal suffering courtesy of my partner here."

"O... Oceana their ambassador made a deal with us, gold and uncut diamonds in exchange for helping them get people out of the country"

"She said they were having problems with heroes, that you capes were trying to stick something on her."

The man shook his head

"She played straight with us though"

Sue gave the President an icy glare, the quiet terrifying kind of glare that only a woman who could utterly destroy you by thinking hard enough could give, coupled with hints of disapproval.

“No one dies today” She stated before once more vanishing a flare of light, seeking out the thoughts and locations of someone she was very annoyed with at this point, the person she had arrived at the island with, Jack Wolf.

"I thank you for your co-operation." Florian grinned, before dealing a swift knockout blow to the man. "And don't call me a cape again."

What Sue would of teleported into would be less a winter wonderland and much closer to an arctic nightmare in a metal works.

Metal screamed as it twisted and buckled under its own weight, pipes exploded as they contracted and shattered from the explosive effects of the intense cold that seemed intent on dragging the area into an eternal ice age.

Jack’s battles against a wall of creeping cold, their water shots and whips frozen and hurled back at them. But all was not cold, at the centre of the icy maelstrom there was a pocket of calm.

Calmly Jack Wolf walked, carrying an unconscious woman over her shoulder, she was wrapped in his jacket. Shirt torn in a few places, Jack strolled calmly onwards, eyes blazing with power.

“Hello Susan, ice to see you again” he said in a slightly mocking tone.

With the man unconscious the warehouse is silent, aside from the adverts playing on the TV, and the dull sound of waves from outside.

Shielding her eyes with a hand, and with her white hair buffeted around and almost lost against the icy background, Sue strode forward.

“It’s over Jack, they’ve given up, the Jills won’t listen to them any more and the people responsible are going to stand trial, there’s no need to destroy anything more, no one has to die here Jack!”

Jack Wolf, used his free hand to go into his pants pocket, taking several red coloured cubes out of his pocket, each had a white starburst on each side, placing them into his mouth he chewed and quickly swallowed.

“Really Susan shouldn’t you be up stairs, think about it hun....”

He raised his hand, and a torrent of water took down the small squad of Jack’s pinning them to walls, and twisting metal around them to form cages and restraints.

“You saw what she was like, the girl in the sewer, so depressed, so frightened, so full of fear and loneliness.” His smirk was rather evil, with the dull glow of his eyes illuminating it

“I’ve removed the center of their happy little family, without my sister, each of those girls is going to wake up like that girl.... but they’ll be surrounded by people, whose natural desire is to die... doesn’t take a genius to work out what’s coming next does it hun?”

“And if I let you keep doing whatever it is your dong down here you destroy the whole place and everyone dies, you don’t leave me with much of a choice do you Jack?”

Her fingers were starting to go a little numb due to all the ice being flung around, but Sue wasn’t about to let that stop her.

“Just stop the destruction Jack, we can go find a nice place to rest with your sister, get these people all fixed at last, there’s no need to damage anything else”

“If you can get us out of here, to the harbour, hell just onto the islands surface. I’ll stop else...”

A series of ice blades flew towards them, Jack Wolf’s answering wave, shook the island again.

“I can’t defend myself without this extra power... and with this power, I can’t ... use any finesse. It’s like trying to build a house of cards, with a sledgehammer.”

“Fine, but you stay still where I put you okay? I have enough on my plate helping these people without worrying about you running off” Sue aid as she pushed herself through to the eye of the ice storm, looking a little blue and frosty coated, she none the less offered Jack a hand, ready to teleport him to a nice high spot on the island.

Then she planned to go back to the President, and start helping these people before something else went wrong.

“So...” the president said, as Sue re-appeared “He has his sister, now how are you going to fix the damage you’ve caused?”

Her desk had been up righted, and she sat behind the battered and chipped wooden barrier, fingers together, looking over her hands at the psychic hero.

“Damage -I’ve- caused? Yo- right I’ll just stop myself there, repairs can be made to your island but as of right now we have a bigger concern don’t we? I’m going to need to see one of the people affected by this lack of will to live issue inflicted on you”

Sue paused, starting to pace, “Then I can see what the damage is and how easy or hard it’ll be to undo for good”

The president opened a draw, well dragged the damaged draw out spilling its contents on the floor, after it refused to slide open, from among the discarded papers she picks up a walkie-talkie.

“This is President Goose, please bring one of the sleepers to my office, immediately.” She spoke into the device.

After ten or so minutes, two men arrived; they had a third man with them on a hospital bed, with some sort of drip going into his arm. He was laying, as if at resting, just staring at the ceiling with no motions other than his breathing. He looked almost skeletally malnourished, all skin and bones.

“They just fall down, and wait to die” the president said, after she had dismissed the two bed bearers. With a nod, they went to wait outside.

Sue grumbled quietly to herself as she made her way over to the man laying on the bed, so much was wrong here, why was it always so hard to get the right thing done?

Regardless, Sue places her hand on the vacant mans forehead, letting out a soft sigh, “If you’ll keep distractions to a minimum please?”

Without waiting for a response Sue eased her mental barriers, gently letting her mind seep into the mind of the almost comatose figure and starting her search for psychic damage, it was done psychically after all, that’s what everything pointed to, just a case of working out what and how to reverse it…

Sometime in the past the man’s mind had been twisted, along with his body. The changes driven into his mind, had in turned caused his body to change. An anti-placebo you might call it, the unconscious changes his mind had made to his body, would pass to his children and their children, forever making the presence of the Wolf known to the world.

His mind was in disarray, for years his survival instincts, had warred with the dark command driven into his very being by the dying Wolf’s howl, slowly that instinct had worn out. The Jill’s had helped, fixing his emotions, bolstering his desire to live, but one day when his will had ebbed low, their hadn’t been anyone nearby and he finally fell to the command.
That command, that dark geis carved into his very psyche?

Die

So simple. It really was, almost elegant in its simplicity, if Sue would ever allow herself to complement such monstrous work at any rate. Yet simplicity had strength, something complicated would be easy to disrupt, to collapse in on itself.

This was pure unadulterated hate and psychic energy forged into a simple one word command, not what Sue had been expecting at all.

However, just as she refused to even consider a compliment to the work, she likewise refused to give up on fixing it, lighting the fire of hope on top of the dull red command, feeding the brilliant blue flames with orange strands of compassion, trying to burn the command straight out of this mans head.

Posted

Slowly, so agonizingly slowly, the command was removed. It would take time, but the man’s mind would fix his body, no longer would he be dragged towards an un-natural death.

The man stirred slightly, looking around, but lacked the strength to speak out, or move more.

With the guard out for the count, Florian turned his attention to Masha, who didn't seem the least bit amused.

"The rate you were going, you'd have killed him before you were even done with Question Time."

Masha remained silent in her seat, leaving her partner to glance about the place, at the two shutters in particular. Before placing her face into her palms.

"I'm sorry... I..." Masha was soon bordering on a sobbing fit, leaving Florian to draw his own attention to the smaller shutter once more.

"Hey, you know what?" the German piped up as he approached the shutter. "Ten bucks says we're in Indy, what do you say?"

Masha looked up ahead of her, tears still streaming down her eyes, then at Florian as he casually strolled away.

"Are you kidding me, Florian?" Masha snarled, somewhat bemused at his reaction. "I'm losing it here and you're making bets?"

"Of course!" Florian answered back with a smirk. "Ten bucks that we're still in Indy."

"I'm dating a moron..." Masha sighed. "You hear that? You're an idiot! Fine! Ten dollars that it's Talos, and you know what? You owe me a dinner at that fancy restaurant there if I'm right, you hear?"

"Fine by me! Now let's see what's behind door number one, shall we?"

Sue’s hand slid off the mans forehead, and she stepped back with a sigh, that took a bit of doing.

“There, see permanent fix, doable, what you should have done from the start, now how am I going to do that to the entire city…”
