AV's hit how hard?
Recluse does something like 4000+ on one of his, that must be the hardest
Other I can think of is Dra'gon, who hits with either cremate or incinerate for a good few ticks of 400+
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!
I don't have a catalog of AVs and damage, but I'd guess that a typical big hit is probably something like 1500 damage before resistance. They tend to have a lot of smaller attacks, of course.

A typical melee attack from an AV is in the 1600 range (typical melee AVs being Ms Liberty, Mynx, Valkyrie, Back Alley Brawler, Statesman). Ranged attacks from these melee fighters tend to do less damage, but pure ranged attackers (Anti-Matter, Mother Mayhem, Nightstar) hit that hard with their ranged attacks
Dr. Aeon can one-shot a regen through Dull Pain with his Energy Transfer. I checked my combat log and he hit me for more than scrapper HP cap. Something like 2800 or so. The only saving grace there is you're probably not going to be soloing him. Aeon hits like a friggin' truck.

ClawsandEffect that is because your defense is very low.
I would guess you do not have CJ / tough / weave / defense IO sets?

Defense wouldn't make the attack hit for less, it would make it less likely to hit. He could be at the defense hardcap and it'd still hit for full damage.

So what your saying is that you can not decrease the incoming damage from an AV?
As far as i know there is not a AV or a mob i have come across where i could not lower the incoming damage from an attack.

As in-game mechanics, defense makes attacks less likely to land, resistance and damage debuffs make them hit for less damage.
CJ and Weave give defense, so they wouldn't make the AVs attack hit for less, they'd make the AVs attacks hit less.
Tough would make the smashing/lethal component of the AVs attack hit for less. IOs can give some resistance bonuses but by and large they're negligible so you can't really rely on IO bonuses for resistance.

Thank you for clearing it up which makes more sense now.
Even though from first hand experience of soloing AV's i have to say Kat/Regan can hold up rather well.
I have watched tanks an brutes die on a TF an still stayed alive to finish them off.

I have all of the things you mentioned and it didn't matter. I would have needed better resistance to both smashing and energy to survive that attack, my 25% to smashing damage didn't really help.

Had a similar experience and, yes, he does hit like a truck. In the same STF, he one-shotted me and Recluse did the same.
It was humbling, but you learn about the game mechanics and your defenses/toggles through experiences like it.

Assuming you have no resistance...how hard do they hit?
If it's possible...could you name them and show their hardest hitting attack?
Edit: Not the actual attack name...just the damage number.
