Ok, so I was sitting there with about 1.87 billion inf and had recently sold 5 Gravitational Anchors for around 100 mil apiece, but hadn't gathered the inf yet.

(You can already see where this is going, amirite? )

So I click "Get Influence" on the first Grav Anchor, now I've got 1.97 billion influence.

I quickly click "Get Influence" on the second Grav Anchor, wooot!, I've got exactly 2 billion, I'm a billionaire twice over!

Eager to watch my fortune increase (as all ebil marketeers are), I quickly clicked "Get Influence" on the third Grav Anchor....

Wait, wut? The 2 billion didn't change? How can I have exactly two billion, when I started with 1.87 billion and just got 300 million inf? Damn market lag....

So I clicked "Get Influence" on the fourth Grav Anchor. And watched as another 100 mil disappeared into that great Inf Sink in the Sky.

Then it dawned on me: the Inf cap is only 2 billion?!?!?!? I woulda thought that the inf cap was somthing that ended in "999" like 9,999,999,999. (Like how Vanguard Merits and Skeeball Tickets are capped at 9999).

Damn. Just Damn.

Oh, well. Easy come, easy go.

LOL! Your first clue that the cap was 2 bil should have been when you went from 1.97 to 2 insted of 2.07.

Sadly, gen you "get" a stack it gives them to you all at once.

Edit: Read more closely, see it wasn't a stack. Nevermind.

Condolences on the loss.

Try petitioning CS, there've been cases where they've given you back the inf you lost. Not a guarantee of action, but worth a shot.

Just remember to put 100 mil or more onto a bid for a lv 53 recipe or IO before contacting support so if you do get it back you can actually get it back.

Ouch!

I did something similar on the Goat, but on a smaller scale- finally got him to 2 billion, took some screens and logged out for a few weeks, when I logged back in I'd forgotten he was at the cap and collected my sales as usual. About halfway through my inventory I pause and think OH ******!!!

I parked his 2b in a bid on something that will never drop to avoid future mishaps.... =(

Gat: I understand your confusion. However, there's a technical reason for this. Something about how a 32 bit processing system can only natively support a value of up to 2-billion-something when counting numbers. So the devs just capped it at 2B and hoped no one would ever reach that limit.

Then they intorduced the markets. Oops!

I did this a few days ago. I was selling some IOs I'd decided to pull out during a respec and forgot that their price would put me over the Inf cap. Fortunatly I didn't lose to much but it was irritating.
