Here's what I could manage for a build. It doesn't quite get as much defense as I'd like, but it manages the recharge and attack string requirements rather well. I'm not entirely sure about the endurance sustainability of it, though with MoG it should be enough to solo an AV (8:44 seconds of sustainable endurance).

Thanks for the quick reply, man. Looking forward to leveling this sucker.
as a stalker i would not skip your AS power, it is the best opening attack and often will 1shot the toughest opponent in a spawn also great after a placate too, but is your signature power as a stalker for its massive burst damage and works well in teams aswell when the enemies arent focusing on just you,... also i'd reccomend agaist skiping DP aswell since it's not just the +hp value yer after with it, with a lower hp cap any hits you take are gonna hurt alot more, and haveing another click heal will help alot while recon is still rechargeing
Umbral,
I have followed your advice here over the past few months and I have always been curious about the DM/Regen Scapper build you run with. Would you mind posting it.
Thank you!

Actually, Umbral, for Stalkers it would appear that Dark Blast IS worth taking... (Were you maybe looking at Scrapper numbers?)
Smite/Dark Blast
Recharge 6s/6s
End 6.86/6.5
Cast .97s/1s
Damage 80.7/111.2
So unless I'm missing something, Dark Blast is significantly better, and is closer to SL for damage.
Which of course leads me to another question:
Is MG/DB/SL/DB better than working in a Smite or two? (it would sure save some slots)
Also, I feel like due to the animation time, something like MG/DB/S/DB/S would be higher damage than a chain with SL, but I'm not sure. Anyone wanna scope this out a bit?

WoW Umbral ! I LOVE that uptime on Soul Drain. Cool Build
BIOSPARK :: DARKTHORN :: SKYGUARD :: WILDMAGE
HEATSINK :: FASTHAND :: POWERCELL :: RUNESTAFF
Thank you Umbral. I always wanted to see your build and it does not disappoint.

you should slot the +stealth proc into Sprint, Umbral ... that way with Super Speed's built in stealth, stealth+stealth=invis
You're looking at the Mids' number, and I'm looking at the City of Data numbers. CoD might be a bit out of date (I think RedToMax quit or something), but the numbers are right. The Mids' numbers probably don't properly correct for the damage from hidden so they show Dark Blast dealing twice as much damage as it should.

Blue
American Steele: 50 BS/Inv
Nightfall: 50 DDD
Sable Slayer: 50 DM/Rgn
Fortune's Shadow: 50 Dark/Psi
WinterStrike: 47 Ice/Dev
Quantum Well: 43 Inv/EM
Twilit Destiny: 43 MA/DA
Red
Shadowslip: 50 DDC
Final Rest: 50 MA/Rgn
Abyssal Frost: 50 Ice/Dark
Golden Ember: 50 SM/FA
Umbral is of course correct on all of these points. Shadow meld is all that and a chip factory. You can easily cap +hp without dull pain. Dark blast is incorrect in mids and shows double damage.
I also completely agree with the choice to skip assassin's eclipse here. For a build meant to solo AV's, using AS is not optimal in the long run; you will end up doing less damage over time, and the debuffs it applies are not going to help you much. Yes it is a signature power. If you find you reaaaaallly want that massive initial strike from hide, you have moonbeam. Although not as good as AS by any means, you still have to take moonbeam or darkblast to get to shadow meld, and dark blast is a complete waste of a power pick. Builds like this absolutely need every single power they have, and assassin's strike is not the top priority in this type of gameplay. Would I skip AS on my elec/nin? No. Would I skip AS on my kat/elec? Yes, and my build does. Different focuses require different powers.
Edit:
That looks like exactly what it is doing. In the Data View window, Dark Blast data doesn't have the "if Assassination" flags on the second set of damage entries for either PvE or PvE. |

So anyway, I'm looking to try something new, and I was hoping for some general advice and maybe some loose builds.
The rub (you knew there would be one) is that I was kind of hoping to do a Stalker. I know this is the scrapper forum, but I trust you guys the most.
I'd like to be a strong (AV soloing) single target damager
As a DM stalker, I know I'll have 0 AoE
A couple basic questions:
Is dark blast worth taking?
I can easily get max HP without DP... should I still take it?
What sort of defense numbers should I shoot for?
Is Shadow meld worth taking, or would I be better off dropping GW and taking Levi for Water Spout?
What sort of recharge should I shoot for?
Again, any builds and advice would be appreciated
