Ice Control... how to approach a mob?
Ice/Psi is pretty good... at later levels (with PSW, patron AoE and dmg procs slotted in AA).
If you can't stomach around 30 lvls of average to below average, I'd avoid the combo.
Ice control is the real problem. It's not that great from start to finish. Ice Slick is perhaps its crowning glory at lvl 12. And that's situational when facing things that fly like freak stunners and wyvern, or are immune to slows like council wolves and nemesis jaegers. It also it highly terrain dependent.
That leaves glacier as your other real control and the recharge on that is the suck. AA gets you some mileage, but you have to charge into melee for that to work. Jack is a good pet, but he has a glass jaw and dies like 10x a mission.
Please buff Ice Control.
It's too bad about Jack. He really doesn't do enough damage for how squishy he is. I don't know how much any of the pet AI changes helped other pets, but Jack still get stuck using one attack, then standing around while it recharges. He'd probably be pretty good if he actually cycled through all his available attacks.
I just wanted to poke my head in and say that if you don't feel too attached to him, another good opener is to throw Jack in the middle of the group. Should distract them long enough to get in a pretty safe Glacier, or at least Ice Slick.
