Duel=A prearranged, formal combat between two persons, usually fought to settle a point of honor.
Edit: So a duel can be fought with dual dueling pistols at dawn, high noon or any mutually agreed time. Many American Western/Cowbots & Indians movies feature duels with dual pistols. However, challenging someone to a DP duel could have a completely different meaning and be the basis for an adult movie series.
