Sitting on chairs etc.

Now THIS I like.

Have a few different chairs, a few different stools, etc, etc. Simple, clean, and well within the system we already have.

When they got more people, it became possible. THAT is the reason we got power customization - not just because of people asking.

I contend part of the reason they were able to justify ramping up their staffing was that they knew they had definite player "wish list" content like Power Customization they could accomplish that would make their game more desirable to play thus providing more profit to the company. Players constantly asking for things like that motivated them to get the manpower they needed to do it.

Regardless even though I think it'd be cool I don't think "clicking on chairs to activate emotes" is on the same level as Power Customization was in terms of priorities for new improvements. They could be reasonably sure that large numbers of people would get a benefit from Power Customization - sitting around in chairs... not so much.

And I'd say it's more like "NCSoft was really irritated that staffing was cut down that much, slowing development in general, and decided to fix that when they bought the IP."

Which doesn't necessarily contradict you, mind, as seeing a wish list of "technically possible, manpower-ly not" items probably got to NCSoft as well.

Plus I had to nitpick back.

It's a great idea but in bases or Pocket D you wouldn't be able to sit at the tables or anything because there would be prop chairs, if they took out the props everything would look weird.

i'm not sure if this could work but could office chairs spin? So when you're sitting in your evil lair you can spin in your chair like all the cool kids.
There could a option after follow that says Spin and then when clicked on, makes the chair spin 180 degrees.

This.

I've made the same counter-suggestion many times myself. Make a couple of /chair emotes, and this becomes a negligible 'need'. And you could add a /chairspin or /chairlean emotes for Slope's 'special' kids.

This a good idea and possibly the only solution, but again it would end up making all the other seats just props and you still wouldn't be able to sit at tables or bars.

The reason for this is because when you're Rping you can either sit on the ground or take a long time to angle it right and sit on a chair or something which just looks weird when you're talking to someone.
I want to see this too. This would help make the game a little better, though it might be pretty labour intensive for the devs? They have added little things like this in the past, like walking (which I love) so maybe someday...

Not necessarily. I have traveled the world and seen many a bar/disco/club/whatever with simply bars and tables standing alone which one could pull a chair up to or stand at sans seat. This would leave it open to the RPer (sheesh, lookit me helping RPers) as to how they wish to appear. I would get rid of the low slung tables in say Pocket D to be replaced with higher tables (I forget what the precise name is for these), and the bars are fine as is but nix the stools that are already there. I would leave couches and booths as a challenge for the truly skilled 'sitter' to show off his or her mad positioning skilz.

Besides which, making these an emote allows both the ultra-mini toon and the mas grande character to sit on an appropriately scaled seat. I know my main Villain (all height sliders maxed) still looks silly trying to sit down on darn near anything. I'm pretty sure that the coding could be done to allow for both ends of the scale to sit at the same table or bar as long as both table and bar are the same height. So mini-toons will just have to dangle their feet on the big stools which they do already.

And although, I would rarely use this (I dont generally RP unless requested by a good friend); I would support this. More emotes!

Hmmm, i guess you're right. I would really love to have seating available, not an emote though. The emote could be a short term thing, because making seating available would be hard.

Well, if I understand you correctly, I would have to say 'think about it for a second'. Whenever you want to sit on a chair right now and (as far as we know) in the future, you have to use an emote. Even point and click on a seat to force a toon into 'Sit Down Mode' is just an emote if the Devs do ever decide to do such a thing.

Yeah, but the only problem i have with the emote making a chair appear is the prop chairs. You've explained that some clubs don't have chairs at tables but what about bases? Not everyone will want to RP that.

Make an emote where the chair appears but work on making real seats sittable I guess the word is.
^ This what i think they should do.

And that is the rub! Is it worthwhile to code (ie; time/usefulness) for the Devs for strictly RP sensitivities? Answer that question, and everything else (as far as Suggestions go) in the game is a slam dunk.

I can see your reasoning, but I guess being where I am from, I look for the easiest to 'get over' solution to a problem since that is usually the easiest to implement. If it is acceptable to the greater number of players and doesnt outrage the OCD players too much; I say shoot for that. One of my pet peeves isnt RP per se, but OCD RP where the RPers want it all handed to them on a silver platter without putting any imagination into the mix. I could write pages on that subject, but it all boils down to that statement.

But then the Devs (or a single Dev) will go above and beyond without saying a thing, and whip out the silver platter. Props BAB. Gotta respect that.
