SB Combo's

[Edit] Dang the 's' next to the 'd'

DB combos, not SB combos

What Combo's would yall suggest me to use.

I am partial to the Vengfull Strike and Power Up combos, but I would really like to get some PBAoE in the mix as well.

I do not wish to take One Thousand Whiffs if I can.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

I like Power Up and Attack Vitals.

Unfortunately your only PBAoE combo (Sweep) requires 1kCuts to start it.

Weaken is nice in the early levels, but as you get higher it gets less useful.

You could always take all 4 and use them as appropriate to the situation.

I've been happy with Attack Vitals for sure, and then ona case by case bias to add in Sweep. Other than, the other two are worth skipping imo.

I take PS, BF, the AV combo and TE. PS, AS, and VS give you a nice ST attack chain and SS and TE add in enough AoE. Landing the AV combo on a large mob is awesome.

Personally, I found the first two combos to be rather lackluster and in the early levels spent to much time missing and having a crappy attack chain by paying too much attention to the combo system instead of just dishing out the hurt.

At the later levels when I could slot everything out good, I actually liked both the BF+AV combo for the majority of the heavy lifting, but I also like to mix in the sweep combo as well. The mitigation from putting EVERYONE around you on their butts for a few seconds I thought worked out nicely with a couple different secondaries I had run DB with. It's nice to rush into a huge spawn and fire off the Sweep combo first, that gave me a second or two to handle all the incomming damage spikes then go to town with the AV combo.

BF>Attack Vitals is a nice mid-to-high ST damage chain, with good AE built in and doesn't take extreme recharge. Once you have this chain slotted out, there's no need for other chains unless you exemplar.

I like to add in Typhoon for extra AoE damage. I also do not like 1K Cuts.

And btw, _Pine_... that signature is the best I've seen.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

BF+AV for most things, with BF+Sweep for mitigation or large groups. The first two are pretty worthless once you get the relevant powers for AV slotted up.

Though, apparently, when you get enough global recharge, you stop using combos. I'm a long way from there though

I'm partial to Santorican's "Not sure if serious...", but I might give second place to _Pine_. Both the avatar and signature are awesome.

Blinding Feint->Attack Vitals

See, I actually kinda like 1KCuts, for the same reason I like Shadow Maul and Sands of Mu strung together.

There's just something about being a human cuisinart for a few seconds that makes me smile. That said, I don't put it in my attack chain, it's just for fun for me.

Exactly, and on top of that, it's not that hard (especially with the difficulty slider all the way to 11) to hit alot of targets with the cuisnart resulting in orange numbers for many ticks popping up everywhere. I'll repeat it again, most hate 1K Cuts and leave the sweep combo out of their builds, but I say give it a try yourself before making any judgements. I love them both, all the orange numbers and the hokey look of 1K cuts and the effect of sweeping everyone around you onto their butts.

What is the recharge needed to pull it off? I have three DBs and I was curious how much it would take. Two get a Quickness type boost(/sr and /elec) and the other is /wp.

I very much would like to put it into some builds to at least have it. When it's all said and done, I'll have to see if I have room for it, or not. More AoE is always welcome. The animation is way long, but that's part of what makes it cool.

Blinding Feint (5.28 seconds, +128%) -> Ablating Strike (5.54, +9%) -> Vengeful Slice (4.09, +96%) -> Sweeping Strike (5.28, +109%)

If you don't have the global recharge to run it, throw in Power Slice at the end. But I wouldn't settle for this on a set IO build.

Blinding Feint (6.86 seconds, +75%) -> Ablating Strike (7.13, +0%) -> Vengeful Slice (5.68, +41%) -> Sweeping Strike (6.86, +61%) -> Power Slice (6.73, +0%)

The TLR or "oh noes, I'm allergic to numbers" version is that you need 2 rech SOs and Hasten up to run the chain. Quite nice considering the damage it deals.
