Mouse Cursor Problem

Hi folks!

I'm experiencing a fairly strange problem with my mouse cursor inside of CoH..

The problem is my mouse cursor is totally invisible, unless I move it. It is visible while I move it, but then will go invisible again once I stop. Along with some other minor annoyances..

Now I found a temp fix that seems to reliably work.. Rebooting my system. On a fresh reboot the cursor works fine. However if I boot up then decide to play CoH several hours later, I have to restart my computer in order to fix the problem. Which, to say the least, is very annoying..

So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what's causing the problem? I did a search and looked through this section a bit and didn't find much that helped me really..

So far I've tried 3 different versions of Videocard drivers, none of them seemed to have fixed the problem (aside from it being temp fixed on a fresh boot)

Here's some of my computer information;

I had this problem, quite a while ago now, which I resolved with a driver update. Now you've indicated that you've already tried this (and I'm not knowledgeable enough when it comes nVidia issues to -really- be of any use), so I would try attaching the following flag to the target field of your desktop icon:

-compatiblecursors 1

See if this makes any difference at all. Hopefully someone with a good understanding of nVidia drivers will stop by and offer up something useful.

Ah, thank you for the tip, I shall try it out =)

-EDit

Well it worked, but I'd still prefer the other cursor..

However I guess I'll use it until the problem is fixed or someone can think of another way.

Thanks again!

Ran into the same problem last night . When I move the mouse around it might land on a tab but most of the time it doesn't , rendering gameplay useless . Yet when I shut hte game down , the cursor works fine (?) . I did go to the NVidia website to download a free update , but not sure if this will work . I have sent a email to support for an answer or solution but any suggestions would be appreciated as well . Thanks

The next time you bring up the updater, let it scan the files. Occasionally it'll find something wrong with one or more files and attempt to fix it.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Sorry I'm not tech savvy , but updater ? Are you talking about the "Verify All Files " button ?

Yup the verify files button

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
