Is raiding dead on Infinity?
Cremzen I wish you luck, I have changed Hami MOTD for you, but I used to raid every night M-F, I have other RL things on Sat and Sun which is when all new raids are usually scheduled so I divorced myself from that. If you do get enough interest and give me at least a week's notice I shall try to join in.

I've never had an opportunity to run a Hami raid period on any server, let alone my home of Infinity. Now, I don't know what to do, but I do have 4 plus years of playing experience playing and the ability to follow instructions (something that seems to be getting rare these days). So I would gladly help, even in just a cannon fodder capacity. Got to get that next damage badge anyway, right?
And hey if any of my fellow Infinity-ites need some help on any other TF, GM, whatever, hit me up, I'm always willing to help. Sometimes I can even drag my wife along too.

Seriously, I'll do everything in my power to get that night off. And if I can't, guess I'll play sick! Just name the places and times and I will try to be there, whatever it takes to get Infinity raiding again, whether you need raid leads, team leads, or just to show up. Hami raiding is damn near the most "epic" thing you can do on CoX, and I love being apart of that! Hope to see everyone there.

And unfortunately weeknights usually don't work for me (even Fridays), but I will be more than happy to spread the word around/pitch in for prep beforehand.
Ok, that made me lol.

Anywho, I'll try to get clarification on the date and time.

Hey all, first off wanna say welcome back Crem!! This how it is, the old is gone! Theres a new revolution, either all the VETS join forces that still remain here on OUR server. Or let it die, I won't. There are quite a few of us that have tried to make our server better. From Hosting PvP events, to daily TF's, Best Bases. I say YaY and Gratz to those individuals for stepping up and taking their time to do these. Quit worrying about is the pop there, do we have the experience. Theres enough peeps to do it, just getting them to show is the deal. With that said the old days they would schedule the raids so freakin late, either everyone was already in bed or to drunk to even type the type of beer they was drinking on their foreheads. We are doing a Raid! WE WILL the first saturday of March @8:00pm EST. I'll be standing there by myself if i have to, and if you want to come check out how its goin while my limp dead *** is lying there underneath the big ole bubble, its only cause I'm going to try and try again til it get complete every saturday night at 8'oclock. It will be rough at first. But as time goes, the so called AE Babies will learn that there is a world outside that building. The VETS will come out to help. Infinity will (hows my kids say it) doeeet!
(if the freakin roleplayers can do it almost everynite!! Infinity can sure as H E doublehockey sticks do it once a week !)

I think 8 EST shouldn't be too hard for people to make it to, but I think every Saturday may be pushing it, at first. I know I won't be able to make it every week for awhile. I'm not too sure a large portion of the Infinity population even check the forums. I may be alone in this, but I really wanna get the raids down solid before amping it up too much. I don't want to hurt active raiding by not being WELL prepared. I know someone who can back me up on this, but I won't set him out. I believe that once we have a number of successful raids under our belt, the community supporting raiding is more familiar with it, and we start working on getting our times down, I think word will spread beyond the forums and channels, and have even more people interested in joining our raids. Once the population and interest grows, we may even be able to compete with the frequency on other server's raids.
I know Miss Illuzion tried doing it every week, and got burnt out WAY too fast, and I believe trying to avoid this being a chore for anyone leading is our best bet. I can definately say that leading a raid can be stressful! Granted, my first one was handicapped from the start, but I was stressed beyond belief. After everyone is a bit more comfortable with the process, more people from the community will find it easier to step up into team lead positions, and even a few leading a raid or two. But, I will say this, if the response to the scheduled raid is overwhelming, and the Hive overfills, I'm willing to lead back to back raids that night, as long as I have prepared team leads for both in advance.
Either way, I will do everything in my power to help and support getting this off the ground and make it a regular event for our server.

Ok, I just spent 1.5 hours doing two Raids on Virtue, I used an emp. The cap for the zone is 50, so that gives us 6.5 teams.
(Team 1) Raid Leader, 2EMPS, 1KIN, the rest tanks: Holds Hami Agro
(Team 2) 6 Scprs, 2 EMPs: Attacks Yellow Mitos
(Team 3) 6 scprs, 2 EMPs: Attacks Yellow Mitos
(Team 4) Assault Team comprised of Blasters and support
(Team 5) Assault Team Comprised of Blasters and support
(Team 6) Assault team Comprised of Blasters and support
Now that is what I have came up with from what I have seen on the Raid I participated in and the info that I have found in other forums. The only teams that I know that have to be the way it is listed is Team 1. (Tanks taunting Hami, must be buffed at all times, and they must have a secondary if they perhaps should fall) Team 1 will hold Hami Agro while other teams kill Mitos. Once all Mitos are killed, everyone verges upon Hami, all single target buffs are issued (CM, SB, ID etc.) Then right around 79% issue AM, RA to all that gathered near Hami. Once Buffs have been issued, the tanks go back out to hold Agro. Everyone pop one EoE/Breakfree before Bloom. Once bloom is out, kill Mitos again. The process repeats. After second Bloom, depending on killing speed, there might be the need of killing Mito's on third Bloom. Rip right thru the jelly at 25%. Back to the Tanks, they should have atleast 6-8 EoE's to pop during the whole process. Now if perhaps when Bloom comes and alot of people fall, everyone has to remember to get the ones that fell back up. Rezzers have to be on look out for their teams, but if any chance to rez someone thats lying there rez em.
From the gathering on the safe rock, forming teams, spawning Hami, buffing, attacking the Hami thru the cycle. Knowing the players we have on Infinity, our first raid should take no longer than one hour. If everyone works well together and listens, Ive heard the best time is 19 minutes. I'd like to beat that, lets do this puppy and have fun with it!

Forgot one thing, yes we might have more scprs than blasters or what not. We can place where we can. The main thing is making sure team leaders know what their part of the task is at hand. Hope that helps or refreshes everyones memory. Thanks!!

I'll ditto Slax. I raid on Virtue and once you go Virt, you don't go back (for raiding at least). 30ish minute raids, once Hami blooms, if someone has a Bio nuke (or 2 or 4). Heck, they did a 20 man raid this weekend (took a while).
Justice is also very efficient. I don't know what it is about Infinity. If a raid comes up, I'll lend a hand if I can though. I'd love to see it come back, blue or red, though I have a feeling a redside raid may never happen again. |

Hami raids are mostly dead on Infinity, RWZ raid are every Sunday. @Wolf-ire is hosting a Hami Raid
If someone would like advice of real team makeups for a blue or redside hami raid, feel free to e-mail me @ osha@theoshaacademy.com. I am no longer playing the game but would be happy to assist those that are interested in defeating my old arch-nemesis. No offense Psych, but your teams will fail unless you waste a bunch of EoEs. I have access to these forums for this weekend only. I may drop in-game to say hi, but have no interest in playing. I enjoyed playing CoX for over 5 years and have moved on from it, but I am happy to assist my old friends from here including Crem and LG with advice in taking down the big jello mold.
Good luck in any raiding you may do in the future.
How's Aion going? I tried it...got to lv30 and wanted to kill myself because of the grind

I left a post in your other forum about hami raids. I did two, unfortunately the second failed. We were unprepared. The first time though, with Cremzen leading, we flew through it. Even with my single team of controllers the other teams ran through them. So go Cremzen!!!

No offense taken Osh, Ive been doing raids on virtue with sg mates there, one night we did 4 raids back to back. The team structures work, if anyone needs or wants to participate with the Dragonians, give us a shout. As long as the tank teams have good support and a build that can hold up to the hami, each person can get buy with 3 EoE's. But Ive done Hami's with no EoE's with either my FIR/KIN, DM/DP, or WIDOW and have held up just fine. I guess the fear factor of failed Hami's on INF has been not been forgoten. Good Hunting and Peace by Bullets!

Second, I'm pretty sure what OSHA was referring to is to do a "Virtue raid" would require way more EoE's than we're used to. From what I've read about their raids is each person would need to pop an EoE per bloom, so for the 42 or so participants not tanking, that's 126 EoE's. Then you tack on the additional 100 or so needed for the 7 or 8 taunt tanks as a safe number. Now, factor in the fact that no one we have is familiar with this other format, and one raid wipe minimum should be planned for, so throw a few more EoE's into the pot. That puts the count at 250-300 EoE's for one raid. I don't know if you ever participated in the raids Infinity had, but we never had a big turnout for the EoE farming sessions, and usually ran about 30 minutes, and I really don't think people are going to be hard up for an hour plus farm time.
And to be perfectly honest, I really don't want to do Virtue's raids. I love being on Infinity, and think we should carve out our own way of doing things and not just clone ourselves after other servers. The devs have said the EoE's are just crutches and that raids can be done without them. If, IF, we can get regular raiding done on Infinity, maybe we can eventually work on different strategies to take him down faster, maybe even one day without the EoE's all together.
I'm not saying that doing a raid with Virtue's fromat is impossible to do here, but it will be very difficult to get done, unless you plan to personally brief every member of the raid one by one with so few people familiar with raiding in any format. The one advantage to the format a few of us are familiar with is that that format requires only a few people to know how to lead their respective teams.
I know you have alot of enthusiasm towards getting the raids going again, but if that were enough, don't you think I would've had it going by now?

First and foremost, I don't want to argue with Virtue's success in Hami raiding. Obviously, they've got it down cold, but you've overlooked the most important aspect, this is not Virtue.
