Help with Base Teleporters?

I have a 3x4 Secure Teleport Bay with the two Basic Telepads (and attached beacons) that I moved into there from the (now deleted) Teleport Chamber. I have 133k Prestige, 1025 Energy, and 90 Control available.

Yet it won't let me add even one more Basic Telepad because it doesn't appear in the Add Items selection!

What am I doing wrong?

Did you craft another Telepad? Each and every Telepad has to be crafted first, before you can put it in the base.

D'oh! Sorry about the false alarm. Still a N00b at building/redesigning bases.

No problem. I spent a couple days going "Okay, I can put in a RAID teleporter, but I can't put in a regular one? HUH-WHUT?" when I first got into it.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

But the Raid Teleporter isn't a Crafted Item? Because it was showing up in the place items window, I thought that was where the other Pad would be as well.

and don't forget that basic teleporters are placed with the add personal item button not in the edit base mode.

The base I inherited didn't have a workshop or Basic Worktable, which contributed to my confusion.

Thanks for the help! I just doubled my SG's teleportation abilities (4 to 8 destinations).

I just wish there were such a thing as an Advanced Telepad that could accept more than two beacons.

Or how about one room that can hold all of them so we don't have to do stuff like this.

it would make it much much nicer on space and convenience by allowing all of the beacons to be put on 1 telepad

This is one time where Red-side definitely has it easier.

that I can help you.\
you did create your own SG
\and you did created your own SG Base.
now you got a basic spot to build on.
as I recall.
you do need a Generator Room and a basic Generator.
next step you do need a controler room with some kind of computer that creates control
the next step is Workshop room and add a basic Work table
from that you can creat your trasnplorter pad and what not. however you need salvage
once you get your transporter pad to be created then next step is to install it
go to the exit portal. and click on " persional items" and choose it
then plce it with in the spot of the transpoer room. however prestage is needed
then add your beacons Atlas park and Galazy city beacons
Good luck it should work from that point on

I had stated that I had sufficient Power, Control, and Prestige, thus implying that I had means to generate them.

The missing elements were that I had to craft the telepad, and that it took a worktable that the base didn't have when I inherited it.

Once I got past those two missing pieces of the puzzle, it became fairly straightforward.

I do have one question about the Teleporter Beacons. AFAICT, the beacons are available as soon as you get all the exploration badges from a map, and aren't crafted. Is there a way to change where in the map it sends you? In a conversation with the previous leader (before leaving), I was led to believe that the destination point is selectable.

That's neat how you overlapped the pads. But how did you get the beacons to mount directly to the pads instead of the wall?

As soon as you get all badges while in SG mode, yes. Important distinction.

However, the previous leader (mistakenly) mislead you. Unfortunately, you're stuck with the location the teleporter sends you.

If you use the Base Teleporter Power (from vet rewards or monitor duty) to go to the base, you'll return to the place you where when you used it upon leaving by the main entrance.

If you come in through a Base Portal, you'll return to the same Base Portal if you leave through the main entrance.

Otherwise, it's pretty much fixed.

There is some indication that in SOME locations that don't have porters (Shadow Shard, Terra Volta, Cim) if you go to the base to rez, when you go back out through the main entrance you'll wind up at or near the mission door. However, I'm not sure that's currently confirmed.

The "cubicle" out of "other furniture" acts as a portable wall. Overlap it with the porters such that the wall of the cubicle lines up with where you want to place the beacon, and there you go.

Be careful when selecting the cubicle to remove it, however.
