Logging in?

I usually have no probs logging in to CoH but this morning it will not connect. Is the server down?

I am in the UK and it is 10:25am.

Maintenance regularly occurs on Thursday morning on the US servers between 6 and 8 PST. I don't know if the EU servers are in sync with the NA, or if they have their own schedule.

Open the updater, and instead of clicking Next, click Server Status on the list at the top of the window. That will show you if the servers are up or not.

Okay it seems to be when I click on the CoH updater file to start the game (which I am running through STEAM) it just comes up with the black screen and a 'Connecting.. #1' in the bottom left corner. Usually it will show a screen of text revealing what updates have been made this time around but I am getting nothing.

I don't think it is my internet connection as I am using Firefox and downloading off of STEAM.

Do downloads affect online play connections?

I don't use Steam, and never have, so I'm not sure. Sorry.

I just tried again and it said it may be a network server problem. Damn! I don't get much time off work and the only free time I get the server is down! Might close my account if this carries on as I'll be paying for nothing otherwise.

apart from scheduled maintenance how often have you been unable to log in?

Not sure if you are in UK but using the USA version and servers so please ignore if not

I am in the UK and was on the USA servers (Virtue) all morning (8.00 till 11.55 UK time) with no logging in problems. The US servers usually and routinely go down once a week on a thursday, from 12.00am to 2.00pm max if all is well.

In practise I am usually able to log back in by 1.30pm.

If you have problems outside those hours and the servers are up (check as earlier explained) then maybe you have another problem.

Before you blame the game, I'd check your internet connection and try power cycling one good time. most problems like this can be solved by a simple power cycle.

Well, I am having the same issue THIS MORNING. However, I have the normal game client and i can get to my character selection screen and then it hangs up and tells me that I "lost connection to the DB Server." When attempting to retry.. I get "This account is currently logged in."

Any ideas? Servers all look to be on the up and up except for training room.

I have the same problem whenever I try logging any of my toons that are in Cap Au Diable on Pinnacle. I can log in and play my toons on Guardian normally.

So apparently... I can log in some toons that are NOT in the Rikti War Zone... I just tested this.. and proceeded to take a toon into the RWZ.. and now the screen has been at the "loading..." phase for about 15 minutes now.. no crash or progress either way. Looks like the servers need to be reset or there was a botched maintenance.

I would hope the devs rectify this... it's crappy that you can't log in and play when you have plans to do so.

i activated my account today, tried to log in and it said incorrect password, i changed my password and its still saying incorrect password. any suggestions?

thank you you are right. for some reason it was trying to log to us server. and also i apolagise, i didnt see the other topic. thanks anyway, saved me alot of stress .

I havent been on game for about a year, i just felt like using my 50s again and possibly make some new ones
