This Account Already Logged In

This is something I probably should have asked about when it first happened, but the Game Security post in the Announcements section has finally prompted me to.

For the past... I don't even know how long... maybe six months or so, I have occasionally gotten a message like the one in the thread title when logging into the game. This has occured even if I have logged out, exited the game and shut down the computer for more than a day.

I have never had any other trouble logging in, and I've never noticed anything that would make me think someone was tampering with my account, but like I said, the announcement today got me thinking about this again.

Anyone know if this issue has been brought up before, and if so what the response was?

If you crash in-game almost every time you will get a account in use message, then you can go right in. The game seems not two want a plaeyr out while in supergroup base or AE mission, often when I exit to Desktop and not wait 30 seconds I get that message.

By accident, I logged in twice on same account (desktop in office and netbook in living room). It knocked me off the first computer without much fanfare and could proceed to get in with second.

I guess it could be the SG base thing you mentioned, I never thought about where I had last logged out when this happened, but none of the other factors you mentioned were applicable the last time this happened, which was earlier this week.

I had played on Sunday night, and when I was done, I logged out as normal - no disconnects or anything else odd. I closed the game, turned off the computer and went to bed. The next morning (around 8 hours later) I got up, turned on the computer, started the game, typed in my password and clicked enter, and got the message that my account was already logged in.

IIRC after that I still had to click "Enter" again to get into the server list, so that's why it ssems more like a notification glitch to me than a situation with my account not logging out.

This happens to me periodically so I think its just a server burp.

But just in case I actually change my password periodically for my account just to be on the safe side.
