Plant/Kinetics...the other farming build?
i rock a plant/kin for my farm toon and i love him. it may not turn out as much dps as fire/kin but it is a whole lot safer. here is a copy of my build and you can tweak it from there if you want.
btw this is a very affordable build. you can spend a lot more money and get purples if you want but thats just not my style.

the key to my build is the procs. i'm sure thee will be a few to come on here and tell you that my build sucks and to go a whole different direction but i run the demon farm +2/+6 in 18 mins. i promise its a solid build.

Reason to add damage is ..
Creepers often hang back (can't SB them to my knowledge) and you don't want to wait too long at the next spawn to FS, so add some damage too here. No biggie
Fire epics (Fire Ball) is better than Stone (Fissure) to allow mobs to keep beating on each other.
Slot the complete set Coercive, the PROC helps a lot too.
I went for solid ranged defense and added Tough and Fire Shield for S/L RES.
Usually you don't get attacked much other than from bosses (if you have them)
Bosses take A LOT longer on a Plants/Kin than on a Fire/kin or a Plants/Storm, so you might want to turn those off while solo-farming.
P.S.
Recipes and salvage drops probably have a lowered chance due to confused mobs damage.

creepers take a couple secs to catch up but its normally while i'm setting up the next mob. i normally use either vines or seeds as an opener followed by FS and then roots. by that time the creepers have caught up and are doing their thing. fissure adds to the aoe fun and keeps them pretty tight so the creepers can continue to shred them.
reason i went with fissure instead fireball is because i want them to stop beating each other. the more dmg they do to themselves the more it saps your exp and inf. (i could have that totally wrong but we have tested it a few times) not so much for me but typically the lowbees in my sg that i'm pl'ing. either way seeds is used in my case only to mitigate through the alpha and that is all. once i have a firm grip on things its smooth sailing.

I realize it will likely never be up to par with fire/kin...but after getting my own f/k to 50 and realizing i wasnt having any fun..I opted to try something Ive heard is a workable alternative.
I havent actually seen any sample builds or run into anyone who has even attempted this.
I know I need lotsa recharge to get creepers perma asap.
friend of a friend threw something together cuz because he was as curious as me to see if this could actually work. he has his own fire/kin and was even willing to help me out with money
