Dual Blades / ?

I have a level 47 Dual Blades / Willpower Scrapper. He'll be level 50 by the end of the week. It makes me sad, 'cause I love Dual Blades. So I'd like to make a new Dual Blades toon. Either a Brute or Scrapper, doesn't matter. What other secondaries mesh well with Dual Blades?

I was thinking perhaps of making a Dual Blades / Invulnerability Brute, but the lack of psionic defense and resistance turns me off a little, as I tend to beat up Rikti a lot. :P

Maybe Super Reflexes? Most Psionic attacks have a positional tag so you still get defense even if you're short on psionic resistance. It's also only got one click power (aside form the T9) so redraw isn't a huge issue.

Curious; did you favor using the combos? And if so, in what way?

You might want to give a Dual Blade Stalker a try. It's actually really different from the other 3 melee ATs so you might enjoy it. If you liked spamming all the combos then perhaps not but if you don't mind down-playing the combos, using them when you really want/need to, it's actually quite effective.

While DBs on the other melees is about consistent and sustained dmg, DBs on a stalker is about single target and AoE burst.

It pairs quite nicely with Willpower (also very different on a Stalker vs the other melees), SR and especially Ninjutsu.

Generally I use them; I'm not obsessive about it though especially on a brute with Fury to feed. On my DB characters I generally end up skipping Weaken and Empower since that lets me skip Nimble Slash instead of taking all of the attacks. I may pick it up again though with Ninja Run to make skipping travel powers less irritating.

Try Dual Blades with a damage aura set (Im using a DB/Elec Brute for example).

You've got Blinding Feint as a repeatable source of +Damage and the Power Up combo, so even if you're not a Brute you have a Fury-lite going on that pumps up your aura to do considerable damage.

DB doesnt offer a whole heap of damage mitigation by itself, and I sometimes feel this on the early levels with Elec.
Dual Blades/Dark Armour would be pretty cool, I reckon.

I really enjoyed my DB/SR scrapper a ton, and leveled up to 50 in no time at all. And if your going for a natural themed toon, especially ninja/kung-fu/samurai themed, I think theres nothing better. My only regret is that the last booster pack was released AFTER I hit 50, as the new costumes/weapons/ninja run is pure win.
