High end Ice/Earth build.

Hi all. I'm currently leveling an ice/earth dom with the hopes of being tough as nails in the late game while still maintaining permadom. The hope is not only to be able to survive, but to maybe be able to defeat some or most AV's.

I've built a Fire/Psi before so I fancy myself as not quite a newb in the art of Dominators. However, considering that this build is pricey, I'm wondering if maybe I could throw it to those who watch this forum often to maybe give me a few pointers on things I might improve.

I'm looking for some in depth analysis, if at all possible. My concentrations on the build were typed defense, recharge, and recovery. I do currently feel I may not have the best recovery, and I also know I can fix that by taking a different patron. I'm aware this is not cheap in the slightest, but I can afford it. That being said, if I don't need to spend this much money to get a similar or better amount of performance I'm not above taking some things out. I'm also not above putting more expensive things in, such as pvp io's. Basically I'm looking to be the best I can possibly be. If I'm going about my goals completely the wrong way, feel free to tell me that aswell!

Well, I'm not really good at buildcrafting but as far as you can afford this, it looks solid in my opinion.

However, some things struck me as strange:
1) You're focusing on S/L Def, but you also got 2x2 pieces of Blessing of the Zephyr in your powers, which means Ranged Def. I personally would use those slots somewhere else. For example keeping one additional slot in CJ for a Def IO to put you just a tiny bit above the softcap.
The same applies to the Thunderstrike in Stone spears. You could use 5 pieces of Decimation instead to squeeze a little more Recharge out of it, unless it's for the Accuracy.
2) This one's personal preference: I would actually skip Power Boost and instead take Tremor with 5 pieces of Obliteration in it for at least a little more AoE (The animation is awfully slow and the damage is sub-par, but the area is actually quite big). However, that comes down to your playstyle, so it's your decision.
3)If you can somehow move a slot, a Force Feedback proc in Fissure might be worth a thought. Maybe one of the four out of Hasten.

In a whole I'm impressed about how much Def you can squeeze out of that char without sacrificing Recharge. I might consider a build similar to this for my own Ice/Earth.

Thanks for the input!

The reason it appears I'm building for ranged aswell is because I'm really just trying to get some energy defense in there. By building it this way, energy is up to 35%. Which I think is a good amount to supplement the s/l.

I want power boost to stay because I think keeping it will be a big difference in whether or not I can hold past the purple triangles that AV's like to put on to annoy us dominators. I also just don't like Tremor as a power.

I do think I'll snag one slot out of stone spears to put into CJ to nudge myself over that softcap. That's probably a good idea, and I'll see what I can do about getting a force feedback into Fissure.

Great build! When I rolled my ice/earth my goal with it was soloing AV's as well, but I gave up that idea as with the money I have available it's just too hard. I instead got some quite heavy aoe dmg and I do well in that bit and I really enjoy the toon.

My build is not near as expensive or good as yours. I think you should be ok with the endurance you'll have. My build has less recovery and more end usage and I'm doing just fine. (I do have power sink but even without out I'd do OK with domination hitting all the time). But as said, your end values are better...

I don't have a ton of input on Earth. Just started an E/E Dom a few weeks ago - it's a fun set but I'm nowhere near pushing the envelope on it yet.

I do, however, have a ton of experience with Ice Control. Your build looks fine, but looking at Arctic Air...

AA is an auto-hit power, so your Acc/* IOs are wasting part of your bonus here. Also, IME, it's not really worth slotting Confusion, because the duration is laughably short and the chance isn't great anyways. If you look at the post two above this one, that guy has the right idea. He slotted in two procs, along with the contagious confusion. Procs are a great choice because you get trigger chances every 10 seconds on any enemy in range, with no to hit check.

I'd spend the other three slots on EndRedux, because even with Stamina, this power is an End hog unless you slam it down like an Accord cruising Sunset Blvd.
