Arena stuff

Hey guys,
I haven't been on much and whenever I do get on stuff never seems to be happening. Credit to the new year and christmas celebrations of course. Anyways is there any progress being made on developing a team ladder. That thread really doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I'm of the opinion that 5v5 - 6v6 would be better( in the form of team lineups and actual precision, its up for debate and I will gladly argue on the subject). I had an idea of having a duel ladder. It just seems more feasible as its just that much easier to do. Each person lists 2-3 toons. Positions on the ladder run the way the old one was. Two options: Each player has 3 matches with the opponent using different toons. The toons he uses for the matches are chosen randomly( obviously there can be huge issues with this). Winner of a majority of the matches wins the set. Option 2: Each player lists his 2-3 toons in an order and he has to use them in that order once the ladder starts. This makes it fun as people will often wait to fight select toons but might get beaten to the punch and vice versa. I would want to fix the number of toons to either 2 or 3 but 2 might be too less and 3 might be too hard/boring to deck out. Option 2 looks like more fun. I dont think I have the capacity, patience or know how to run such a thing( if people are interested ) so I am just stating my opinions on ATs and powersets allowed. No stalkers. No same powersets ( although that should be allowed just because someone will be really stupid to put in work for a duplicate) No similar powersets( 2 different blasters is fine but I would want to avoid something like someone using an elec/therm, a sonic/therm and then an ill/therm). Constructive advice and suggestions only please along with nods for approval. If there is good interest someone make a ladder thread where people can announce there lineups and such. |
You might disagree with me but Dueling is not competitive at all it's more a rock paper scissors scenario in this issue, then again it's always been that but now it's honestly a huge joke.
Agreed. Not in all cases. Its usually decently fun when faced against the same AT. Its also a whole lot easier to get going as compared to teams so yes .. mixed bag.
didn't ownage and peril have like 6 toons in the top 10 of the old ladder (at the same time?).
3 toons for ladder: psi/em, mind fire, elec therm. I win. /sarcasm_off
Honestly though, pre i13 i would be for it, now duels are just dmg spam with button smashing. Besides i don't think most "cool kids" here would do duels anyway.
Sry Musey :/
Duels are best between friends and to test builds, unless you are limited to same/very similar ATs the rock/paper/scissors factor kicks in big time.
Infinity and Victory mostly
dUmb, etc.
lolz PvP anymore, Market PvP for fun and profit
