This Sunday, Jan 3rd 2010, Mark the Global Co 3rd Anniversary.

For this day we want to do something special! And since us old crooners can’t find anything original to do… will just copy what was done blue side, about 1 year ago.

Ive asked ROBOKiTTY for some help, because this is no small Endeavour.
For those who don’t know RK, she lead most red side hamid ^-^

As for our event, its this Sunday, the 3rd.
It will be in The Abyss2, right after the first Hamid Raid.
The first Raid is around 3pm PST/6pm EST
2nd raid would be 30 to 60min later.

We welcome everyone to join us. The only thing we ask of you is to bring all 3 WB nukes and HVAS if you can.

Strategy is still being discussed, and will be explain right before we start (posted here in advance if we can).

You all welcome to give your inputs.

Also, please pre-sigh here. Team formation will be made on site doh.

Let’s talk Strategy

Depending on how many nukes/ ppl show up we might do 1 evac or not at all.

Assuming we can handle full evac less, will do the raid like usual. For the first phase, kill yellow, then green , then blue. Once All mitos are dead, we need a pause. Teams will have to stop and avoid attacking Hamid.

Brute team will move back to previously thumb tacked yellow mitos position. And get ready for the next bloom. There job will be to distract them. Brute team will have to deal with up to 3 yellow stacked on the same location. Where there is normally 1 yellow, a second will spawn at 50%, then a 3rd at 25%.

As for the main group, we need to buff up before we engage Hamid. We need everyone with enough EoE for the entire encounter. Last year blue side edition, it took about 2.5min to kill hamid from 100% to 0% HP(taking that number off the video previously posted). Therefore we need a minimum of 3 EoE per Toon, but we could up that number to 5, to be on the safe side. We also need breakfree’s, I know I know you want to rely on your normal mez prot. But it wont hurt you to eat some BF’s to add more KB and mez protection. If you have no mez protection, then make sure you have enough BF’s.

This is a 1 shot deal, so don’t be shy and do eat your inspiration. Don’t wait to get mez or kb’ed to eat BF’s, eat 1 then when it start blinking eat another… same concept for the EoE. Stream your insp. Don’t bring any other insp. Luck and sturdy are useless against him. Maybe have blues and greens, but I cant stress enough about EoE and BF’s.

About EoE, just assume this… if you don’t have 1 up, you are as good as dead. If you want to try w/out EoE, please try that on any normal raid. We need you alive! Will try to run 1 or more Monster island session, to gather EoE, prior to the event.

Where was I ?, oh yeah, Main group… so the idea is to Bio nuke everyone before we cast any pets. Maybe MM could spawn there t9 pet, but dismiss all others for that part. Bio nuke can only buff 20 toons, pet included, at a time. Yes will have a lot of bio nukes, but we want em to stack, not to spread on pets , that will die after 30 second into it.

Then we cast all pets, shivans, HVAS, everything you got. Next phase is to cast AM, Fort, WoP, etc.

Pets will be attacking already at this point, so we just shoot at Hamid, and cast our Nuke Nukes, chem. Nukes etc..

Monitor your inspiration status icon and eat EoE/BF when the previous start blinking.

This is just the basic idea, things may change after discussions. Feel free to add your comment. Hopefully will come up with decent macros to coordinate you all, :P

Speaking of which, you might consider creating a macro for /sync and /unloadgfx .
Turn gfx to minimum. Ill go run naked on next Hero Con, if there is ZERO lag on this run… I mean by that, lag will be ubertastic.

Other note, we prolly want 1 kin and/or pain corr on each team. And well, PAY ATTENTION TO REQUEST CHANNEL!

It was spectacular, but we failed. We took Hamidon from 80% to 20% in two blinks of an eye, but as the first wave of EoEs wore off, many started dying to the triple blooms, and our momentum was stopped. Glorious yellow dawn.

Several things we observed and learnt for posterity:

1) Clearing the 75% bloom might have made it easier.

2) Lag made buff icons somewhat unreliable. Rationing insps more aggressively might've helped.

3) Break-frees are about useless for squishies when the goo hits the fan.

I will say, that was the Awesome Stuff, Sadly we failed.
I think most that joined had a blast doh, and I’m looking forward to try again.

I have to thanks everyone that joined, especially those who took the time to gather the 3 nukes.


If I recall, blue side, failed the first attempt as well.
Then we tried another attempt with initial then first respawn bloom cleared and won. Then we did the full 100%, and succeeded again. Tactics been adapted and all.
As for this last Sunday, we have learned greatly from this experience and will adapt tactics.

I’m also confident we can enroll enough interest for this.

After reviewing the video, I have to agree we prolly need more Nukes.
We also prolly want to stress a bit more on eating BF’s as well on placing that and EoE early on the steps.

We had about 20 nukes X 3, on this attempt, while I’ve been told blue side had about 30.
We managed to push him to below 20%, those 10 other nukes would had killed it.

Anyways, I’m down for a rematch, :P
That was just too awesome too leave it like that.
Next attempt, we should clear the initial bloom, then the first respawn, then do it., so we only have 2 bloom shooting at use, 1 at 50% 1 at 25%.

I will discuss this with KiTTY and see when and how we schedule this.
