Returning CoH/New Mac user questions

I was playing CoH on a PC a few years ago when I stopped. It was around the time that CoV was introduced. I have just installed the two week trial on a Mac to start playing again and I have a few simple questions - kind of embarrassing actually.

1. Where did the built-in actions go to? I used to like putting my hero in a yoga position before quitting the game. I can't find these commands any longer. They were with the list of commands like "Boombox" and "Dance".

2. Are there limitations in the Trial version of the Mac client that do not allow me to enter teams? I was invited to a team with a L50 hero, but could not accept the invite. I selected "I'm open to all requests" and tried clicking on the L50 herm and selecting "Invite to team", but nothing happened.

3. Are there limitations in the Trial or Mac clients to create Macros? I have a Tanker char and would love to create a three-punch macro for him. If no limitation exists, is there a easy guide to creating a macro on a Mac?

Thanks.

There's a little button that looks like a chat balloon on the bottom right hand side of your chat window. Click that little button.

The OSX client is just the Windows client running atop Transgaming's Cedega / Cider. So there's nothing special about the OSX version.

There are, however, special limitations: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Trial_Account

Quote:
# rial Accounts cannot email other players
# Trial Accounts may not level past 14
# Trial Accounts can only have 50k influence
# Trial Accounts may not join global channels
# Trial Accounts can only speak in

* /local
* /hc (the Help channel)
* /team

# Trial Accounts cannot invite players to team

* Trial Accounts may join teams, but not invite other players
* Trial Accounts may not join SuperGroups.

# Trial Accounts may not create Mission Architect arcs. They can not interface with the Architect Entertainment Stations. However, they can be invited onto a team that is running MA missions.
This is why you couldn't invite the level 50.

There are limitations on most Macro's to begin with. The developers are against allowing too much automation since it encourages bot-play rather than players actually sitting at the keyboard playing the game.

Hey guys,

I've taken a break from CoH for awhile and in that break I switched from PC to Mac. Loving the Mac so far, so I decided to get the CoH Mac version.

I downloaded the Mac client from the NC Store today, and loaded it to my dock and clicked it to start it up. It doesn't seem to be doing anything, I can't visually see anything on my screen even. Just the swirly timer thing when I put it up near the Apple Icon (top left corner).

Is it just downloading the updates for CoH, and will take awhile for me to see anything on the screen?

I'm running Mac OS X V10.6.3

It's going to take a few hours to download updates with a fresh install

This. The current game with all of the Ultra Mode textures / models weighs in around 3.1 gigs, so if you are doing a fresh install, it's going to take a long while.

If you mean *absolutely nothing* (if it was downloading updates you'd see the download progress) follow these instructions:
