I kind of get where you are coming from as far as the attitudes. I was doing some 1v1's tonight on a new build/toon of mine and some guy messaged me out the blue and basically was telling me how therms are cheap and no one is going to 1v1 me. I get out of a match and the same person sends me a blind arena invite on a different toon. Of course I am happy I am getting to pvp and go in the match without paying attention. He sets the match in the cargo ship and he is on a dark corrupter. Kills me then precedes to start talking smack in broadcast that I can't run from him on this map like I could the stupid dom I had just beat on the Perez Park map. So I spent the match running in circles with his debuff toggle on me. No GG at the end or anything. I never said a thing to him before, during or after to deserve smack talking. Then after the match he says in local channel to the next person I am going against that I suck as a therm. Then when I beat that person he tells them that they suck for letting me beat them. I don't see that kind of childish crap on Virtue, I also haven't seen nearly the skill level that I see on Freedom. Personally I would rather ignore the idiots and participate in better pvp.

And that's where we differ. I'm a very casual PvPer, the prospect of a good challenge isn't worth the irritation of freedoms server community. If cross-server instancing were in place we could keep to our respective servers and still participate in competitive PvP (Meaning Arena).
That's a long way off, if ever.

cross server arena will still require organizing.
you must have not been around during the days of test... test AC was 20 times worse/more fun than it is in freedom.
cross server means freedom (which i love dearly in the sense that i <3 making fun of tards, and highly competitive people who talk a lot) will come into your backyard to make fun of you and you'll get emo. it doesn't mean you'll come to freedom and convert everyone into nice little virtue style rpvpers.

Test really is the only "fair" place to fight for that exact reason. When every one has the exact same ability to get the exact same builds and enhancements then it is all about skill rather than who has the most expensive builds.
