Force Bolt/Mag Protection of AVs
AV resistance
(http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Archvillain_Resistance)
when the purple triangles are up
90% resistance to knck
50 magnitude knock protection
With the triangles up the answer is no.
With the triangles down its highly dependant upon the AV.
Taking Arachnos AVs as an example Night Widow Nocturne I freequently see knocked up (ooooh eerrr missus) down or back.
The inner circle, I have never seen knocked.

I've done it once or twice, with nothing slotted in Force Bolt but accuracy and endurance reduction, but I couldn't tell you why - at the time, I was just firing and hoping for the best...
If you slot Force Bolt up with 4 lvl 50 Knockback IOs you can hit mag 51.8 Knockback (3 IOs is 50.1), which may be enough to knock some AVs on their butts. I'm not sure I completely understand how knockback works, though.
I think I have heard that the equation is to first subtract magnitude, and if the result is zero or less, there is no knockdown. After resolving this, resistance is applied to determine how far the enemy flies. Looked at that way, it means ((51.8 - 50) *(1 - .9)) = .18, a successful knockdown. But I could be doing this all wrong.
[EDIT: Corrected math that dealt with resistance portion of the equation. Originally did math wrong and got a result of 1.62 as a result.]
I have a feeling that the 50 mag protection from AV triangles is on top of the normal protection that the mob would get.

And yes thats 50 and resists on top of the normal level

the 90% resistance reduces Mag 50 to Mag 5 before applying the versus the AV. |
its not impossible to knock down an AV, on teams some AVs can be knocked down fairly easy, the ability to knock down the AV is dependant on the AV, cause some AVs have no knockback protection without the purple triangles and some automatically have 100 mag kb protection on top of the 50 from the triangles. lord recluse for example has 100 mag kb protection + 50 kb protection from the purple triangles. nictus rommy in the ITF has 0 base kb and just 50 from purple triangles. i have fought both enough and never seen recluse knocked back/down at all and have seen rommy get knocked back/down when they get hit with enough kb attacks.
The title sort of says it. Can you get Force Bolt to a high enough mag to knock AVs on their butts?
