The only thing that would possibly change is your global handle. Everything else will be exactly the same, except for the fact, the people who don't want to stay on a dead server with their 3 friends can transfer to a more active one.
And i'd prefer they merge them before the end of January so we can actually have some use out of the free transfers.

@Londoner; I ask you re-read the points to bear in mind I mentioned about season, time, etc. The activity level at this time of year is about what I remember it being this time last year, and the same time the year before that.
@Rent; I'd welcome a server merge, if only to give people more choice in where they choose to play. But again not everything would stay the same. People would face moving supergroups, which would need building up from scratch (I know it's a side-effect of playing the game) and I also understand that people may choose not to rebuild the old groups, instead joining existing ones on whichever server they migrate to.
To both of you I say I respect your perceptions on what is dead or not, but they do not mesh with my understanding of the term and shall bow out of this thread to let you carry on with it. Please, though, enjoy your game. I wish you sincere luck in finding teams.
A server list merge wouldn't effect SG's one bit. If you want to stay on Onion with your SG base etc, then that would be an option for you.
All we're wanting is the option to move. Like you said, more options will always be a good thing.

This is the main reason I unsubbed 2 EU accounts last year, and moved over to freedumb, as Rent said perfectly : Downies in denial. what is even more so brilliant is people who have played this game for like a year are posting in this thread arguing against people who have played over @ EU for 3-4-5 years, whats even more more brilliant is people who have only played US side, and have no EU side experience commenting on all our EU is dead threads. If you don't have a clue, don't post.

The other night on Union around 8.00PM GMT I saw 127 Blue Side and 121 on Defiant-Blueside.
All I see is people arguing, and not agreeing to disagree...
Some think the servers are dead, others don't. So stop arguing on a thread topic that has been done to death. Please. For the love of KFC, stop going on about it!!.

Some of us just dont want this game to die, but see a trend leading there. Its not about the NOW, where some people still find there are enough players for their needs. It's about the near future when those that DO find it got way to empty for their likes leave too. And the more people do that the more empty it gets, until a point where those that dont mind it NOW will find it too empty THEN too.
in my opinion.
(in the early US evening, Virtue had over 400 on blue side. THAT is more still like "MASSIVELY Multiplayer Online" Game.)

Surprisingly enough, when I logged on, this VERY early morning after celebrating Xmas (Swedes visit their families and get their prezzies the 24th) there where MORE villains on than usual, and most of them where low levels.
Made me happy because perhaps some ppl got it for xmas? Oh, wait... "More" in this case meant there where 37 villains on Defiant.
Bascially we're f'd trying to get a team nowadays, even hero side it's getting hard. Point being: This is not an MMO anymore. I log on every day, thinking about going on a Mo-5SF and it's basically IMPOSSIBLE to pull a proper team together, even a lousy, bad (as in no where near optimized for the task) PUG seems impossible. Even going on blueside it's hard to get a team invite despite the "new funky" super-sidekick system.
Point is: At the moment I sort of enjoy the game again, but I can't play it (the only way is 8 man teams on relentless and you know it).
H.ck! I even bought EVE for 5 to get some distraction and I'm amazed how well that 5 year old suckah is doing and how well pollished it is, with voice chat, in-game browser, external API for programmers etc. ..oh, and it's rather boring, but beautiful!
Totally agree. 5 teams of 8 definitely isn't what i'd call an active server.
