Atlas Park map is acting like mission map

My map for outdoor areas, in particular, Atlas Park, is acting like it's a mission map, which is to say, covered with impenetrable blackness on all the areas I haven't explored, rather than the standard "Fog of War". This started after I completed a safeguard mission, and I have found no way to change it back. Is there an option or some such that I am missing?

EDIT: And after Justice, my server, went down, it was fixed. Odd.

It would have been more accurate to compare it to a Hazard Zone. This has always happened, albeit very rarely. In most cases, zoning will fix it; extreme cases may require logging out or even closing the program and reopening it.

The server hiccup just orced you to take the latter course of action.

That happens from time to time in zones, where things will black out instead of grey out. Normally when you zone or exit a mission or log back in it may clear up.

It's a feature, not a bug!

That said, are places like Boomtown supposed to be blacked out. I'm trying to do Exploration Badges and it was a collosal pain. I have vidiot map replacements but they don't do any good if I can't see them.

In other news, Boomtown is like a freaking Battle Maiden map, complete with clusters of 15 spaced evenly every 800 feet or so. Like a Dark Astoria without the damn zombies w guns and mez.

Yes, Boomtown is supposed to be that way, just like every other hazard zone. It's blacked out until you move over the area.

To be complete, the usual try-first fixes are:

1. Zoning
2. Restarting client (CoH program)
3. Deleting checksum.coh file in CoH directory and restarting client and let it reverify all files.
4. Rebooting computer.

This usually resolves 75% of all oddities which aren't part of of Known Issues.

And once you earn the 63-month veteran badge, you get the "Reveal" power and *POOF*, no more blacked-out zones of any kind, to include the ultra fun ones like Dark Astoria and BoomTown.

On a side note, I had this happen to me the other day. We were running a safeguard/mayhem event on Freedom server and my city maps were consistantly BLACK instead of just "fogged" after coming out of the safeguard missions.

It's the only time I remember it ever happenign to me, and it was happening all night. It might be connected to certain instanced maps.. It might not.. but either way.. they were fixed after my next client restart.
