what do u experienced brutes think of this setup? i've got my brute to 32 already and could hit 50 fairly quickly if i get to it so i'm trying to plan it out.

this is what i'm working with. it's soft capped to the 3 positions and has some good recharge but i'm wondering if it could be even better.
see any improvements i could make?

For the record...and Im only speaking for myself....it annoys me when people post a "make me a build" post instead of using search and finding the 4 or 5 other threads in the last two days out there where that specific build is discussed.....

So anyhow...not wanting to tear apart your build too much....so Im only going to make cosmetic changes instead of wholesale ones...I would never six slot stamina for instance. No matter what the bonuses are.

Active Defense: I should think you would want a MembraneExposure HO in there. Recharge/Def not a cyto.

Health/True Grit: Its always been my experience you get more regen by slotting Numina Regen/Recov, Numina Heal, level 50 Heal IO. Even with the bonus HPs you get more regen per second slotting the common IO. So one of em I would do that....

Also I absolutely love the 5 set of Scirocco +1 Force Feedback +Rech combo in one of the three knockdown powers....so Id pull the Oblit set out of thunderstrike and put in that...but then that puts you way over the AOE def cap and below the melee...so out goes the Mako set in Havoc Punch and in goes a Touch of Death....and out goes the third slot in Superspeed (bye bye expensive Zephyr -kb) to make six slots in Mu Lightning for an inexpensive thunderstrike set.

There are larger changes I would make but those are philosophical choices....

feel free to tear it apart. i got it from a friend who was nice enough to share. i did make a couple small changes myself but forgot to save them before i posted.

im also not into 6 slotting stamina and im going to 3 slot hasten, for some reason i just cant accept only 2 slots :/ . ive also been looking at other threads on this build for ideas. its giving me that indecision anxiety i always get when trying to select the final build...lol.

anyway, thanks for the input frogfather. i assume your opening line meant that i DIDN'T offend your sensibilities since i just asked for advice on a build rather than just say gimme one? ....which i believe i did in my first forum post ever ...damn noobs

I can't view the data chunk right now, but by looking at the set bonuses I think you're doing pretty damn good. softcap defense + recharge + a hefty HP bonus is certainly the right direction to go in and is how I slotted my Shield Tank.

Although I agree, Membrane should go into AD. It not only increases the recharge of the power but also the defense debuff protection. With a few of them slotted in there you can probably perma stack AD and get real close to the debuff cap. Also, from my experience with my Tank, I never had to use One With the Shield except for a MSTF.

Just a reminder: do not put the FF proc in Shield Charge or Lightning Rod. The pseudopet gets the recharge, not you. Putting it in thunderstrike is perfectly fine.

I agree, even though if the proc did work in them I still wouldn't slot it in such a long recharging attack.

Thanks for the info...I didnt realize that. I have mine slotted in Thunderstrike for almost coincidental reasons.

To the OP....I sent my build via PM for your perusal. Its not the be all and end all but it does +2/X8 without the slightest hiccup so Im happy...

It isn't a bad build at all, I'd probably take the Ragnarok: Chance for Knockdown and slot it in Active Defense. Also six slotting stamina isn't bad

Youd take Ragnarok and put it in Active Defense? Your powers do something mine dont?

I was only pointing out the stamina 6-slot as part of the philosophical difference I would have for that. With ED being what it is youre just wasting %s to get set bonuses. Why not look further afield and get set bonuses and % enhancements at the same time...but I hate it when people post builds and people tear em apart, change 3/4s of the power selections, dont explain why, and expect someone to follow blindly....thats all.

I'd personally would want another slot or two in AD to slot HO's for recharge and defense debuff resistance, especially since there's no Grant Cover for additional debuff resistance.

thanks for all the feedback guys!

that hami was an accidental slot, i know its not the right one. i forgot to change it before i posted the build.

i think santorican meant use the slot the purple was in for active defense, not actually put the purple into active defense.

anyway, i appreciate all the advice and look forward to putting it to good use. =)
