Auction past sale data wiped?

When I finally got done patching after the maintenance and got into the game, it seemed that all the past sale data in the auction house had been wiped. At least hero-side this was the case; did not look at villain side.

Is this regular and normal after the maintenance, and I had just never gotten on soon enough to notice? Or is it unusual? I /bugged it.

Same thing here. I hope it's a bug that gonna get fixed soon... otherwise it would be very annoying.

Hurry Hurry crash some prices so we can all lowball to our hearts content and profit once the market self corrects!

I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

I accidentally crashed a price a week or so ago when I missed a zero putting something up for sale. It immediately went for less than half of the going rate, and I was cursing myself for losing so much money on it. Then the next couple sold for that low price as well, so I put in a few lowball bids of my own. Got three of them for significantly less than what recipes were going for and flipped them once everything corrected. It wasn't intentional market manipulation, but it was amusing to me that I profited from my mistake.

Alas, I'm too afraid of forgetting my price points, or that the market will have shifted in the past few days (I haven't hit the market for a few days). I'm waiting this out like the wimp that I am.

i sure hope the ebil marketeers arent screwed over by this, we wouldnt want them to have to start over price gouging us again so we have to wait 3 days for a "reasonable" bid to get a hit.(read as bid for one IO and wait 3 days to get it for a good price, makes respecing fast and easy....NOT!)

/endrant

edit: its entirely possible im just talking to see my count go up but i seriously think the prices for some of these commons are completely out of hand, yes i can wait for weeks to find all the ones i want at a decent price but why should i have to wait all that time not having fun with my toon. am i expected to just forget about using IOs till 50 so i can farm the commons i want for weeks sense i no longer have any reason to be in a rush?...IDK just my 2inf.

ps: i know they are "optional", but most of us want to do the best we can as fast as we can, while SOs work "just fine" why would anyone cut their own throat and gimp themselves unless the game wasnt hard enough for them anymore....

It took me three months to finish my most recent build. Technically, I'm still missing two IOs, but they have very little impact on my performance. But that's NOT the marketeers fault. I'm buying from other players, and nobody OWES me a quick sale at a cheap price. I'm lowballing and bid creeping. That means I'm in the back of the line behind people willing to pay more. Duh.

(Edit: Well, I probably could blame the ebil marketeers. Much of the marketeering brings up the low end price while lowering the high end price. If I'm lowballing, that's bad for me, because many marketeers are willing to pay more than me. But if I'm trying to get something fast at a reasonable price, the ebil marketeers are my friend. When prices spike, they'll rush in with supply. That makes them some nice influence, and I don't have to wait as long as otherwise for the spike to go away. Win win.)

I saw this early this morning after the servers came back. I submitted a petition with the info I had (BM was working, hero side not, etc.) under Technical Issues. I also put into the text that I meant the petition as a heads-up in case there was something they could do and/or wanted to do about it.

I got back a reply saying it was being escalated to a senior rep, which surprised me. They also said there was a high volume of tickets this morning so it might be a while. I let them know I was in no rush and reiterated that I didn't actually need anyone to reply to me, per se, since I don't actually need this fixed. I told them that if the history was gone forever, I felt sure we'd make a new one.

Yeah, sorry if I reacted badly to that. It was one of my buttons, I guess. Anyway, I consider myself a pretty hard core powergamer, but you'd be putting me in the cut my own throat and gimp myself camp. I level up on SOs, some frankenslotting in the mid 30s, and maybe a few things that drop that I happen to have salvage for. And that's despite the fact that I could easily outfit my leveling toons with sets at buy it nao prices. I can understand why people would want sets and the like while leveling, but to me, I'd rather be playing than bidding. It sounds like you'd rather be playing than bidding as well, so... play instead of bid? It really is that simple. This game is EASY. You don't need IOs to do great while leveling. You won't be gimp. You'll be just fine.

I was working on my arch/mm new build, and had to stop because of this data loss. I had to remove specific expensive IOs from other toons I do not play anymore : now I don't know which are those things exactly

I got back on and posted a number of reasonable bids for the level 30-35 enhancements I use often, in hopes of getting at least a couple bites now that the crazy prices are invisible.

FYI, the history is back. Based on the reply I got in my petition, it seems that this functionality is actually maintained in a separate server and/or process. In short, something wasn't running that should have been, and has been (re?)started. I've verified that previous history has been restored. I was tracking the history of some slow-moving items, and the old data is definitely back.

Thanks for the info Uberguy, that's good news. I'm going back into the game then to keep on working on my build

That's my feeling. People will complain anyway, of course, and I can understand it. It's not like there's a scientifically correct level of work required to get your uber lewts in an MMO. Some people want less work, some people want more. My personal preference would be for more, but it's not like I'm right and other people are wrong. It's just personal preference for how we want our MMOs to behave.

Anyway, yay for market history!
