Can't decide!

Ok, I just hit 35 on my Tri-form Warshade and I'm faced with the choice of 2 powers.

Unchain Essence...of which I like the idea and Inky Aspect which also sounds neat, if slightly dangerous.

I'm doing pretty well right now so I wouldn't say that Inky Aspect is critical...but it's nice to stun bosses, which I would be able to do with Gravitic Emanation and Inky Aspect together.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

All comments appreciated.

Unchain essence is the preferable of the two for me. It's useful as a mini-nuke without a crash; it also has a 50% chance of stunning what survives its blast, and thus stacking for you, though the unslotted duration is about 7 seconds. Overall it will be a good increase to your damage.

Inky, I don't much like. It's got a pretty small radius (8 ft), so yes you can stack it on a boss but you have to stand very close to him to have inky affect him. Plus, toggles are generally not as useful for a tri-former.

If you go with Unchain Essence, make sure you pick up the bind to target defeated enemies in the binds section.

A little about your build and playstyle preferences would really help those offering advice.

If you're human only, inky aspect becomes more attractive because you'll stun minions that come anywhere near you and you'll be able to stun bosses by opening with gravitic emanation (puts bosses on their butts and puts a 3 mag stun on the boss) + inky aspect to follow-up (2 mag stun), putting the boss at 5 mag stun (at which point, bosses without stun resistance will be mezzed and won't fight until the stun wears off).

If you're using dwarf form, then unchain essence might be more to your liking because you have less need for boss-specific mezzing capabilities (if you have dwarf slotted up well, switch to dwarf for bosses and pound them into submission).

Both are very useful, I give the nod to Unchain Essence as I am a well known AOE damage nut.

The bind is usefull but I am currently using extract essence to target a dead body, it's a 2 click process but it works well enough.

If you PL'd to 50 just to get an "epic" thinking you'd be ber, you're going to be sorely disappointed with the HEATs, because the VEATs were designed so that anyone with one good finger and a braincell can rock the toggles.

Since you said you're tri-form, Inky Aspect isn't going to be much use to you, unless you're a big fan of re-toggling it every single time you go back to human-form, in which case, the drop down to human form + activation time for Inky Aspect will be wasting half the stun duration from Gravitic Emination you could be using to do damage to the enemy instead... Whereas, with a human-former, you could hit Gravitic Emination, and immediately speed or teleport to the middle of the group to instantly stack the stun from GE and Inky Aspect (assuming you already have it running).

I say go Unchain Essence.

Although, if you DO play a human-form scrapper/melee-style Warshade, I'll add that Inky Aspect is AWESOME.

Just not that great for tri-formers.

Thanks to all who replied.

I tend to agree that Unchain Essence is the preferable one for me. At least it seems to sit better with the playstyle I have.

Inky I can wait to take or may just hold out for Eclipse.

Thanks again to everyone.
