Game Won't Load

I havn't played this game in a while, but I decided to start it up again. I reinstalled the game, but when I try to open it it patches just fine, I agree to the terms, then I click next. I get the "loading" screen, wait, wait and wait, but nothing happens.

I've tried re-installing but nothing changed. I read Zloth's post, but I don't have any type of windows skinning program. At this point I'm not sure what to do. The game worked fine about a year ago.

I checked my firewall and made sure that the firewall wasn't blocking the program.

Here is my info from HyjackThis:

Anyone have any ideas of what I can do?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Can we take this to mean that you also checked your antivirus software wasn't blocking the newly-patched and altered program?

Thanks for the reminder! However, I can't find any information about what programs my anti virus program is or isn't blocking. I'm using Norton System Works 2007. Anyone know how I can check this?

Thanks!

Never mind, I figured out how to do this, however it still hasn't fixed the problem.

I think you are going to have a hard time with CoH on that computer.

But have you tried starting by checking 'Safe Mode' in the start-up screen. It will start CoH with minimum settings.

Yes I have tried safe mode. No luck.

I have played the game before on this computer and had no problems, but it was a year ago. Maybe it's just time for a new computer.

I don't have any of those type of programs. I didn't even know there was such a thing until I read out them in one of the post in this forum.

If you have a graphics tablet hooked up to your computer that has also been known to keep the program from loading. Sometimes disabling the tablet works but sometimes it takes completely uninstalling the software.

I'm not even sure what a graphics tablet is, so I doubt that is the problem, however I've installed a web cam since I last played the game and I'm wondering if that might be the problem. What do you guys think?

Disconnect it and try. It's unlikely, but it could (!) possibly be a factor.

Also, in the time since you've played, has anything else been upgraded? Have you changed, upgraded, or patched your operating system?

WindowBlinds, eh? I never used to have a problem with those two programs interacting, but I did last night. Overhauled my kit with a new mobo, CPU, RAM and vidcard. Got all the drivers in and booted COX. Ran really well for a few minutes and I was having a grand old time until my computer shut itself down. Turns out the processor fan wasn't plugged in very well and it overheated. Anyway. Fixed the fan but ever after COX wouldn't load. Guess I'll have to check WB's exclusions. (didn't know you could do that.)
