/regen, /wp? Confused.

I've been reading the forums the last couple days about what kinda stalker to make for zone pvp.

Im hearing a mixed back between /regen and /wp. Some say that /regen is the best for zone because its so survivable, and would just need a perception io, etc. Other's say /wp is the best for zone because it has +percep built in, easier to hp cap, and repel resist.

Regen seems like it would be stronger if you just slot decent sets in it and got the perception io. WP seems like a jack of all trades kinda thing.

So what do you guys think? I'll be pvp'in in Siren's mostly, so please keep that in mind. I'm up for all ideas.

Thanks!

Someone in zone last night that Regen may be more survivable but Willpower is Survivable enough to get in, get the kill and get out. Seems like Regen would be easier to go staminaless since it has 1 toggle.

Anyone have experience with both sets care to chime in? Still curious which is better for zone pvp in sirens and rv.

i have a spines/regen, fully io'd with pvp sets and purples, and it takes at least two stupid moves to get me killed.

the trade off is this: you have to spend a lot of inf. on it. you have to have enough recovery sets to run without stamina (so you have have leadership), while also retaining enough bonuses to cap your hp (easy) and have a respectable damage bonus (a total of 30%+).

if you have the money, regen will outdo a wp. if you're poor and/or want an acceptable pvp stalker with minimal investment, go wp.

WP has a few neat toys to play with, notably built-in perception, repel protection, and a self-heal identical to the one in Regen. However, Regen has more survivability outside of hide (Recon, DP, IH, MoG) so if things go south and phase/Hibernate isn't up you're more likely to live through it on a Regen. Just remember that a PvP Stalker is often a tight build and you'll need to figure out exactly what you're looking for to get all your necessary powers in.

Thanks to all of you for responding. I went spines/regen and just got up to lvl 10 (slow but steady). I have some cash flow saved up, so ill set it out and get tactics (and perception io), hopefully by SC level.

So far, so good. I must so, being able to change the looks of both spines and regen makes it so much more enjoyable to play

As an additional thought, I've found on my PvP Stalkers that I can
simply do without Stamina altogether.

The primary reasons are:

1> I build some endrdx into the powers (esp attacks) as part of
the sets I slot.

2> As a stalker I choose the timing of my attacks, and the duration
of my stay. A good attack chain is enough to get in, get a kill, and
get out. I've never even come close to running out of End in PvP.

Of course, that requires a bit more patience in playstyle and a
recognition that I'm not playing a scrapper or a brute. Also note that
I'm *not* saying a stalker cannot stay in a fight and scrap it out,
but if that's your normal approach, then your build needs to reflect
that requirement - Mine typically don't have that need. YMMV.

went spines/regen myself. Figured out of MANY lvl 50's, majority are PvE, about 4 are farmers (2 blue, 2 red, give or take) but I dont have a single PvP toon.

Figured it's about time to try my hand, and it isnt like I could slot one up with the cash my domi brings in.

Anyone have a build I could at least look at for a PvP Spine/Regen? Minus and PvP IO's since I need to PvP to GET those. lol
