Ouroboros costumes

Probably should have posted this as a thread here instead of in Jay's costume request thread: As the player of two characters meant to be Menders, I'm sure I speak for not only myself but also every other Mender player when I ask for some real Ouroboros costume parts. Since we get Vanguard costume parts after joining Vanguard and fighting Rikti, why not have Ouroboros reward merits given for completing Flashback missions and the other missions from the Ouroboros contacts, which could be exchanged for Ouroboros costume pieces? The models are already there, so why not let us dress like a Mender after we've been Entrusted with the Secret? I see a shoulder option, maybe a glove option, at least one belt option, and a chest detail, which I'll grant you is a lot less than what Vanguard has, but I've always thought they were quite beautiful and I would love to be able to equip them on my characters.

I could be wrong, but I think the only custom parts are the belt, shoulder pads and sash, correct? I wouldn't hold up much hope for the sash (Kheldians have been asking for them since Issue 3) but it would be cool to have the other two in game.

Yeah, pretty much it's just those, plus the one gauntlet that's on Mender Tesseract. And there's two versions of the belt, one with a thigh plate and one without, though I'm not certain a thigh plate works with the way belts are set up as of now.

The answer is erratically. If you look at some belts with side items (the policeman's belt is a good example) they will clip with some of the larger leg options.

I always believed they should let the player decide if a costume piece looks good.

If it clips but they give it to us, then most of the people are happy. They can use it with pieces that fit.

If it clips and they don't give it to us, no one is happy.

Bare in mind I'm all for keeping some items NPC unique, if that's what they want. Otherwise I find the clipping debate quite silly. More options are good, not bad.

Agreed. Just have them unlock with the top tier "Complete X Flashbacks" badge, which, if I recall correctly, is "Mender".

Quite possibly not true. Depending on how the exact pieces were set up, they may or may not be capable of deforming based on the relevent sliders. Like all PC costume pieces have to but NPC ones don't because they're on the one specific model rather than one that can and will have wildly varying proportions. So if they're not set up to do that already, making them do so is a fair bit of work.

Although, I believe Jay made the statement a few issues back (After I10, with the vanguard pieces?) that all new NPC costume pieces would be already built to do this stuff. Don't quote me on that though, I could be misremembering things.

That said, I for one would love to have access to the Ouroboros uniform.

I agree with that

So do I. And since the shoulder, belt, and chest emblem are the easiest, I'd be perfectly happy with the leg plate and glove remaining NPC-specific.
