DB/Stone, Stone/DB, or neither?

I find myself wanting to make a character with the combined powers for Dual Blades and Stone Armor, mostly for having a granite armor golem with two big swords who uses the Dual Blades Taunt.

I know that this build won't be some kind of meta-awesome-super-powerful thing, but I think it might be a lot of fun to play. That being said, if there's a particular epic/patron pool that will give this build an advantage, I'd be all for it. It looks like it will be easier to get all of the powers I want at an easier pace as a DB/Stone brute (minus the whole "getting granite armor at level 38" thing), but a Stone/DB Tanker would have access to Physical Perfection and Conserve Power to ease the cost of Dual Blades' attacks, and a tanker doesn't have to worry so much about damage, leaving more options for IO slotting.

Any comments? Questions? I'd ask for criticism, but that'll come whether I want it or not. :P

Dual Blades is endurance friendly if you use damage combos (any extra damage is basically endurance free).

I don't see any problem with either choice. Go brute for more damage, or tanker for more survivability. That's all there is to it.

i have a db/stone brute and its lot of fun
he stucks at lvl 44 because there is one storyline i want to go through before getting 50
and a bruts gets bonus dmg by hitting AND getting hit by enemys so that will fill the gap a bit

Helge corr lvl 50 rad/cold
Helge2 corr lvl 50 ice/rad
Techbothelge MM lvl 50 robo/dark
Helge Mauz def lvl 50 emp/ele
illuhelge troller lvl 50 illu/rad
Wiederbelebter helge nk lvl 50 bs/reg
Maennerschreack nightwidow lvl 44
Quantenjaeger ws lvl 3

DB/Stone seems like an inherently bad decision. You rely on combos, and Granite will eat your recharge time so you won't be able to string combos together as often.

This is my experience with it. You can certainly play it, but it'd be my pick for worse possible combo with Dual Blades.

It does look interesting to see the spins and twirls in Granite Form (and it looked freakin' awesome when it was bugged on Test and didn't show weapons at all - Ballet of Death Granite!) but that's about all it has going for it. Definitely a style over substance pairing.

Okay.

But when/if Power Proliferation brings Stone Armor to Scrappers...or Martial Arts to Tankers...I'm making a Granite character who uses Eagle's Claw. And that's final.

Considering what happened to Claws/Stone for Brutes...

The ability to create that combo never made it out of beta for Issue 16.

I don't remember the reason given for the change. It may have been because of Granite's inability to display Claws correctly, so you could be safe. But if it was because of how Eviscerate looked you're going to be very sad .

Well, they let Granite characters use Jump Kick.

From what I've heard (because I wanted a claws/stone brute just for the silliness of a giant golem weighing several tuns just SCRATCHING things instead of punching or stomping), it's mostly due to animation troubles with Granite Armor.
