Hi,

Just bought the Euro game online but when I run the cohupdater.eu.exe it says it is a non valid Win32 application? I have Vista 64 and have never had this issue before.

Also if I run the updater instead of downloading the updater screen comes up but nothing happens. Nothing is downloaded. No connection?

I've got Vista 64, too. "Not a valid application" tends to mean that the exe is corrupted, or isn't really an exe at all. (If you make a text file on your desktop, type some junk text into it, save it, rename it junk.exe, and run it then you'll get that same error.)

I don't quite understand that. If you run instead of downloading? Huh? Maybe you should tell us exactly where you are getting the coh updater program and where you are putting it on your computer.

Same problem here, got new computer with Windows 7, and tried to download the game client from the NCSoft website, but opening it tells me it's an invalid Win32 program?

EU Windows Updater: ftp://client.cityofheroes.com/EU/CohUpdater.EU.exe
EU Mac Updater: ftp://client.cityofheroes.com/EU/MAC...staller_EU.dmg
US Windows Updater: ftp://client.cityofheroes.com/US/CohUpdater.exe
US Mac Updater: ftp://client.cityofheroes.com/US/MAC...staller_US.dmg

Try redownloading it, saving it to your desktop. Once it's finished downloading, try running it by double clicking the file on your desktop.

pretty much this.

Save the file

THEN RUN it.

If you are using a WinNT 6 platform, Microsoft has made several security related changes to try and stop the spread of malicious software. One of these changes is the prevention of running various executable files straight from a browser download.
