Base Editor memory leak fixed?
I still get it, the leak and the lag. Not as bad as it was perhaps, but still there.
"Life is what happens when you are making other plans"
I still have it after a few hours, I have been trying to keep records of it.
I still get it. Sometimes not till after I'm finished and go to access WW or a store or pretty much anything. Everytime though I have to open the task manager to close the game and the memory usage reads in the high 70's or low 80's (w/ 4 gig of ram).
I was hoping that switching to windows 7 would help but,....no.
It does seem to be better, for whatever reason, but still happens from what I've experienced.
Is this basicly when you computer just crashes when editing? If so for once I experenced it, if not I really need to start saving for a new computer.

Sidhe, for me the game "freezes" and I have to windows tab out to desktop, then use task manager to stop the game process from there.
Yeah, it will get progressively more laggy to edit and then when I leave my base the game usually freezes when next I zone or talk to a vendor, and in some cases even bringing up the in game mail or supergroup tabs.
"Life is what happens when you are making other plans"
The game has crashed during long edit sessions but I have another possibly related issue too. It usually goes like this: I do some editing and/or a lot of interacting with salvage racks or enhancement tables and then switch to another character. That character tries to enter the base and I get a "lost connection to map" or similar message and the game crashes.
Most of the time I don't have to use the task manager to stop the game and when I restart the game it doesn't verify the files.
Today, for example, I was playing my base leader and cleaned out an enhancement table and filled it with candy canes for a lowbie to get winters gift recipes. Nothing seemed laggy or peculiar but when I switched toons and tried to enter the base the game crashed.
This doesnt happen all of the time but it is consistant enough to be noticable. Would this be part of the 'memory leak' problem?
BTW, running only 2 gigs of ram atm here, Tyrak, Gromar you?
Gromar, I hadn't experienced those issues myself, ie. map disconnects as related to base edits.
I usually crash pretty quickly once out of the editor, if I've been working for more than 3 hours. If I try to switch toons, forget it. I just making it a policy to reset the game entirely after long editing sessions. It takes a minut, but when the game crashes, it always takes longer.

If I spend a long time editing and plan to do anything else, I do a complete log out and take a couple minutes to run the "verify files" feature just to make sure everything will run lag free when I go back in.
"Life is what happens when you are making other plans"
124 - 128 minutes.
Every time I'm in the editor, it crashes just after 2 hours. I don't get lag at all until just before the crash; then I have a couple of molasses moments, followed by total non-response and a crash to desktop. Restarting the game gets me a check, but it's fine after that. I'll keep everything I did from just before the molasses moments (maybe 2 to 6 minutes of editing), which has actually saved my butt once (I accidentally deleted something I didn't want to delete - crashing means it was still there when I came back).
When I have a lot of editing to do, I try and remember to set my timer to shut down and restart every 120 minutes.

Yeah, my system was the same way, crash every two hours like clockwork.
Now I can literally go 8 hours in the editor and the worst that happens is it lags a bit.
I dunno what changed. I was hoping there was a stealth patch but seeing that other folks still have the issue I guess not.
My only problem now is that the crash used to be a sign to go to bed. Now I can edit all night if I don't pay attention.

It is strange that it seems to have gotten better for some. Wonder if the lack of AE farming has any impact on base data?

Yeah, it has gotten better since AE farms stopped being as prevalent. I still get requests for that occasionally. Wish it'd stop completely :P Anyway, although it's gotten better, the lag is still there. Normally, it only really gets bad when I pass the 750 parts per room point. I can still work around it for a good 6-8 hours without too much trouble. Always thought that my 2 gig ram just wasn't enough to make it easy or something though. I try not to give it too much worry.

Interesting, with my 2 gigs I'm only good for around 3-4 hrs or so, before the game will freeze up.
with my 2 gigs I can only work for about 2 hours... though my computer has other problems on top of the memory issue....

Did they fix the old memory leak bug in the base editor?
Used to be the game would crash every couple of hours while editing, due to it.
Last night, 5 hour editing session, not a single crash, and the lag that sometimes happens in placing/deleting stuff was minimal.
