Not to be confused with Boomie's Fire/pain

I have finally mad a lvl 50 villian, my 1st, and on Freedom

I ran around in RV for 10 minutes last night, in my PVE build with SO's and did not do too bad, but I could not catch anyone.

I am ready to start buying my IO's

please correct my build before I waste any infamy

I took Blaze, I figured I would fire off Flares most of the time, but if someone got close or was in scourage range, then the 3x flares damage that Blaze does would help finish em off quicker, right?

The soul storm hold looks like it would be handy, but what could i drop to get it, or is it not needed?

Blaze deals good dmg no doubt about that but for the majority of the time Fire Blast will be better. Fire Blast recharges 6 seconds faster, has twice the range, half the endurance and does, unslotted, a little less than blaze. About the only time Blaze is better is when scourge kicks in. Like Con and the others said in my thread Soul Storm>Anguishing Cry.

derailed side comment:

when i took out my apocs from blaze and put them into flares, i wanted to break things for a week.

but it's all about what you want to do with your toon, i have a fire/cold which essentially works down a target over time. putting apocs into flares results in a higher dps, but overall burst goes down a lot (no 500 pt scourges on scrappers), so i have to keep debuffs up a bit longer, but i'm more secure in knowing that i have the dps to take someone down.

also, i've seen emcc's toons around in RWZ, welcome to freedom dude.

I have been spotted, WoW I feel like Waldo!

I have made it to 50 on vilians but the PVE build is not gonna cut it

Hmm ok ang cry is a nice debuff, but short range and long recharge, unable to make perma

Soul storm nice hold , long recharge is not an issue, fire once and pound on em from range

I am not the uber # cruncher, but here is my logic

Blaze big damage, but short range, I put 2 h/o dam/range to boost that to 58ft and getting 340 pt damage , with aim (from Mids) and RC of of 4 sec cast of 1 sec

so attack chain start from max range, moving in
flares until they get into blaze range, then
hit em Soul storm, to hold em, then
Blaze>flare>flare>flare>Blaze, till dead (670 damage every 4 sec, more with scourage)
reapply soul storm as needed
heal or phase if I get ganged up on

Fire blast will have a damage of 166 and a cast of 1.2, recharge od 1.6
so attack of Blast, flares, blast, flares
does 552 every 4.2 sec

not sure why I would want blast instead of the blaze

Opps BAD math

Captain NOOB just realized MIDS has a PVE to PVP toggle

it give new numbers and everything

Me lots smarter now

New math
with IO's I can afford (devastation) and soothing aura 25% damage boost off (can't always coun on it on

Flares 217.5 dam
Blast 275.5
Blaze 308

Not a huge diff between blast and blaze now, 33 pts

Blaster longer range, less end and Blaze quicker cast and 33 mor dam

I am going to experiment with the Blaze option and let you all know how it goes

I switched out ang cry for soul storm
the hold will help Blaze and it does nice damage too (268)

Last question, is Phase really going to save my bacon that much?
or would I be better with summon Mistress for more damge for 240 sec out of every 383 sec?
or picking back up Anguising cry at 49

phase or hiber get one..you'll need it in rv. Remeber 99% of blasters are em so boost range...

xx/pain doms are good because of scourge and procs and the self buffs on dmg and healing... fire is harder because not as many dmg procs for ranged (unless you have access to a lot of gladiator Jav CFT...

But if hes planning on joining Kickball he'll need Powerboost. That just leaves phase. And its a tight build.

1st is a crazy attempt to fit all the buff stuff on one toon and live off of flares ONLY for damage

2nd has blaze substituted for Anguishing Cry for when the target is in scrouge damage level
